Nothing gets past you, does it?
You, on the other hand, probably miss quite a lot.

You serious? Field of Dreams was unwatchable - a total P.O.S.
No Way Out was his only half-way-decent film he ever, and that was helped along by a hot Sean Young and Gene Hackman.
I had never really thought about it. Although I am not a fan of Draft Day and something about Love of the Game bugs me (would need to see it again to remember what).
Sports movies are hard to make because most of the actors are not any good at a sport (or the ones they cast are not anyway). Are you making a movie about a sport or a movie that has sport as some sort of background or vehicle?
But his list would probably be better than anyone else's and it is amazing how many he has made.

American Flyers helped me get interested in endurance sports. Like most 1980s movies it hasn't aged well but it still makes me want to go work out.
Any love for Sylvester Stallone?
-Rocky, Rocky Balboa, and Creed are great boxing movies
-Victory - good soccer movie that includes Pele
-Cliffhanger - rock climbing. I can't get the first scene out of my head
-Over the Top - arm wrestling. This one's pretty cringe-worthy.
I did some rock climbing in my younger days and the friends from that world who saw it just cringed--much like we do when running is in a movie.
Other than a few of the Rocky movies, the rest of those are not very good. None of them rank higher than the worst Costner movie IMHO.

Paul Newman in The Hustler, Slap Shot, and The Color of Money.
(But my pick for the best "maker" of sports films might be Bud Greenspan.)
Greenspan is awesome, but to me that is a different category of movie (mainly documentaries with strong personal stories). If younger folks have not seen these, get on the interwebs and find them. He does not always tell the story of the gold medalist but he tells a great story.

I'm pretty sure Bloodsport is the greatest sports movie of all time and Jean Claude Van Damme was so good in it they named a Diamond League meet after him.
Awesome!

You think Gene Hackman is hot?
Loved No Way Out, and Field of Dreams (book "Shoeless Joe" is better but then that is normally the case).
Bull Durham is fantastic--great supporting actors too. Well cast.
