Zero idea why the LR trolls zero in on Hasay as "anorexic." She's no skinnier than most of the other top tier female marathoners. Potentially has a lower body fat % as she has more muscle definition (which could contribute to stress injuries), but she doesn't deserve to be singled-out.

FYI, her splits are pretty telling in regards to her goals for this race.

she ran the first 5km in 16:11, from 5-10 in 17:10, from 10-15 in 17:07, and from 15 to the finish at 16:52/5km pace

so there's no way she was trying to run goal marathon pace

The journalist was referring to Salpeter and not Hasay when she wrote "...she laughed at the suggestion and said she was aiming to stick with the pacers as long as possible".

The first 5km is significantly downhill...so it seems like she was...

Even of they are healthy, I do not believe Hasay and Craig are locks. It is a solid field.

Marathoners get appearance fees for half marathons when they make good press by claiming they are going for AR's, then they run closer to marathon pace because the marathon is the priority and maybe they're still in full training and not ready to risk injury. We have seen this almost all the time. Rarely, as in Rupp's last Roma-Ostia half, we get a very fast time during marathon training.

Sara Hall is much thinner and frail looking compared to Hasay.

Maybe Jordan's poor performance is related to her increasingly lean physique - to an extreme level of caloric deficit and body fat loss. She looks even more gaunt than ever here. How is this sustainable?

I trust you're trying to be sardonic here. Regardless, your effort fell flat, whatever it was. Try seeing her in person, she's normally lean and trim, *NOT* 1990's-2000's CU buffalo "skeleton-w-condom-pulled-over-it" type of skin and bones.

THose splits actually looked just fine all things considered, and i'm almost wondering if it is a ploy to reduce attention befure and during Boston from competitors. Another thing to consider is she's Catholic and might have wanted to visit Rome, not sure if she's raced there before.

I will search and bump this post if she wins or podiums boston.

She's training at 85% of her usual volume & effort, etc. After getting hurt for the last 2 'thons, this is a smart move to set her up for the Oly Team.

Yeah, I agree. I . think Al Sal is overdoing it on the weight loss sauce and catabolic aerobic work relative to Jordan's calorie intake. It's all downhill from here. Her cheekbones are popping out. Really sad to see this.
