Nick seems out of his element a bit.
Classic that he tries to justify the freelap accuracy with a remote hand time...that just happens to be the exact same time as recorded by the freelap! Nice. Thanks Nick, that helped not at all, a hand time from that video is useless. I got 11.65 averaged out over 3 attempts.
Max wind is 2.0 m/s, not 2.2 m/s. He had a hurricane, which he admits...and which makes a huge difference.
His letting up was not worth 0.25s, especially with that wind--but, he DID clearly let up, which militates in his favor.
Blocks won't matter much if he doesn't know how to use them well.
He doesn't really have the form to make use of sprint-specific spikes.
RT for sprinters is not 0.20-0.30, nor will his RT probably be as bad as 0.25--but it could likely be around 0.20, but we won't know as the blocks probably won't have FS sensors.
I also have trouble understanding how he gets 12.48 from 11.48 + 0.50, but whatever. 12.48 basic FAT from blocks would be believable based on that vid. Mastering blocks will be important.
As soon as you start slicing and dicing as he does, you are finished. Different factors affect runners of different abilities very differently, you can't worry about that stuff. What you want is solid fundamentals--and that's what he needs. What was shown in that vid was miles from a sub-11 wind-legal FAT 100m. Very bad sprint fundamentals.
I will stick with my predictions. Would be nice to know how serious he is about training. Would be HILARIOUS if in a few months he emerged with a decent block start, with good block clearance and good angles, and with lower contact time and less rotation. Obviously he's a great athlete, who will likely be a good student, so we can expect improvement on this vid.
