YEah, like all the Muslim and Scientology girl marathoners.

Are you accussing her of using profanity?
How'd you get a place at the Boston finish line?

He's referring to Flanagan and perhaps Quigley, and in so doing has revealed his own extreme 1950s-era anal retention. God forbid someone gets excited in the heat of the moment after an intense race. Especially if that person happens to be female. I'm sure his porcine blob of a wife would never, ever, utter such an immoral thing during really good knitting session, lest he beat her like that one time she accidentally let fly "damn it" after burning her finger while making him flapjacks.

That was kinda funny because, IIRC, one of the reasons she parted ways with John Cook was because she thought he was too foul-mouthed.
I still think she should have stuck with him. She was a much better runner under his watch.
1) Most people who cheer on at Boston are not runners, and they have more in common with someone that works full time as a nurse and runs than someone who is only a professional runner. Maybe not more than Des, but every other elite won't get as much attention as Seller.
2) Flanagan and Desi were the only female marathon distance runner role models referenced. You think Flanagan has a relate-able story about weight for the average woman? Jordan Hasay?

a great article about Sarah Sellers that I think more young girl runners can look up to than other pro runners.
A good person to look up to for all runners, not just "girl runners"!
Sarah Sellers is a mormon? The article says she eats chocolate. Last time I checked, Mormons don't eat chocolate.

She also wears a GPS watch. Not sure what to make of that seeing that missionaries were only recently allowed to used smartphones. Where does this tech fit into mormonism? Serious question.

I’m not Mormon but live in Utah so am very familiar with this cult. Mormons can eat chocolate and can wear GPS watches. They don’t have any religious restrictions on technology but probably weren’t previously allowed smart phones on their missions because they are supposed to be totally devoted to being a missionary during that time. Mormons can’t drink coffee or alcohol by eat sweets, candy, and soda like it’s crack.
Look at her left foot in the picture leading in to the Boston Globe article. That's the foot she injured when her career had to go into a long pause. How long until she injures it again?

Chocolate has a small amount of caffeine so I could see the confusion there but yes, I'm pretty sure Mormons can have chocolate and caffeine in general.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2019/03/04/remember-sarah-sellers-she-back-for-another-boston-run/ipuXbt6ljP2Z4mfcr55uzO/story.htmlI bet she gets more cheers on the course than the top 10 runners at Boston this year.
I'm just curious which female pros you think are bad role models? It seems like most women who make it as pros have healthy outlooks when it comes to weight, work ethic, eating disorders, etc.. The ones who don't practice healthy training seem to fall by the wayside long before they make it to the pro ranks.
Flanagan, Desi, Houlihan, Huddle, Simpson, Ajee Wilson, Coburn, Quigley, Schnieder, Purrier all seem like good role models to me.
Houlihan is doped to the tits. Hardly a good role model

Who could possibly be better than Sara Sellers? Three Sara Sellers.

Thanks, much appreciated! In my country we don't see many mormons so genuinely curious.
Is this comment for real? Have you never heard a woman speak a swear word? Serious question: would you have the same opinion about a male runner doing the same thing, or is this a gendered sense of resentment?[/quote]
Correct, it is okay to have different standards for men and women.
I do not want to live in an androgynous world with no sense of masculinity and femininity.
For the record: I also do not want my children growing up and cussing like an NBA/NFL/MLB star, but it is not that unreasonable to be taken aback when a runner crosses the finish line, and discuss these actions on a runnng forum.

So she toes in with her left foot. Just like Frank Shorter, who won Gold in '72, and Jon Anderson, who won Boston in '73. Maybe she/they are on to something. Maybe all LetsRunners - well, the trolls, for sure - should try it. :)
If "bad words" offend you...You have never ever served in the military. You are a pathetic civilian.
