I'm just curious which female pros you think are bad role models? It seems like most women who make it as pros have healthy outlooks when it comes to weight, work ethic, eating disorders, etc.. The ones who don't practice healthy training seem to fall by the wayside long before they make it to the pro ranks.
Flanagan, Desi, Houlihan, Huddle, Simpson, Ajee Wilson, Coburn, Quigley, Schnieder, Purrier all seem like good role models to me.
Not the OP, but I think Sellers is a good role model because she's not *solely* a professional runner. 99% of girls growing up who love running aren't going to be able to do so for the BTC or other programs like that. Sellers has managed to be an elite athlete (granted, not a Tier 1 marathoner, but still legitimate) as well as work a full-time gig.
She's relatable to the weekend warriors. There are a few athletes like her that commend a lot of respect for that. The professional runners listed are great athletes, but professional runners can generally be pretty one-dimensional and unrelatable.
