Goggins did run a 100 mile ultra with no run specific training and then ran the Las Vegas Marathon shortly after. He did the 100 mile race as a way to attempt to qualify for Badwater, which he planned to do for charity. When he still wasn’t guaranteed a spot he did the Hurt 100 in Hawaii and just about killed himself. The guy went through Hell Week to be a Seal multiple times. He is absolutely insane. Anyone attempting to train like him is a fool. You really should read his book before badmouthing him. He tells no one to train like him. Only says almost all people don’t tap into their true potential, which I think is pretty true.
I have not read his book, but from the little I do know about him, I'm definitely a fan. He's humble, not like that other super annoying ultra guy whose name I won't even mention, and he has done great things with his life. He also definitely tells people they should not train like he does. What's not to like?
