Being a parent and coach under the media spotlight has got to be tough. Of course, he had an emotional reaction. After viewing the video a few times and having Jacob and Henrik medal in the 3000, he will probably mellow out a bit.

Interesting that you manage to spell the name "Filip" in three different ways, when the name is right there in the title.
He was trapped into those variants and you know it!

I thought it was like the brown M&Ms. He was checking to see if anyone read it carefully.

Kind of funny that the Swedish commentators are saying that he stepped outside due to being pushed. But of course, grumpy Americans are playing the "you have to follow the rules" card.
Must be hard to be an American middle distance fan these days. So many angry people and so much hate against the Ingebrigtsens.
Ta dere en bolle, as we Norwegians would say
I'm an old coach here in USA. I have not met anyone in distance, here in the USA, that is NOT amazed and 100% behind the Ingebrigtsens. Please don't let these stupid boards represent our hopes for these boys. Oh and what about the daughter of the family. I predict that little lady is going to explode on the scene one day. The look in her eyes, man she seems hungry. The one I really feel for is the DAD. His job is so difficult. He is very competent in my opinion. I don't know how he is still in one piece let alone training 3 top men. I think that family is a very special family in so many ways. I wish them all the very best always...they sure deserve it. I'll be watching for the daughter.

Norwegian.
But I just moved back to Norway after 15 years in Seattle.
So I know both countries, and I love both countries.
Ha. You make fun of Americans in earlier posts but out of all the major cities in the US you had to choose to live in one that had the most Scandinavian influence. (Some might argue Minneapolis...but it's more the state of MN).
It's true, Seattle is changing rapidly but there's still things like the Syttende Mai parade in Ballard. It's the biggest in the US by far. Seattlites who have been living here a while supposedly have some Scandinavian mannerisms too (like the seattle freeze...until we get to know you). So way to go out of your comfort zone :). Now, Houston or Miami...that would be a much different kind of America!!
Anyway, I'm just giving you a hard time back :). I'm American but have some Norwegian ancestry so naturally I'd want to root for Filip. But, objectively it looks like he took an unnecessary risk trying to aggressively pass inside like that.
So....Ta DEG en bolle :).
