I don't know about that. What was the last 400?
Last two laps were 32/28

Anyone besides me thinks it's kind of weird that the EUropeans are all into the European championships when they are trying to erase their own countries identities with on big European country.
I mean GBR is getting so much crap for Brexit. In my mind, why not just get rid of all countries if you are going to give them crap?
No. It's just you that thinks this. Maybe look up what the EU is and what it's there to achieve before you comment again. Aside from embarrassing yourself, you're also being moderately offensive.
What I do think is weird is how much you struggle with English. If you need some tutoring, any of us Germans would be happy to help you. Even the French could probably give you some English lessons (who, btw, are not the same country as Germany, nor ever will be).

Wow! This is... um... an interesting take

Yeah, you are as ignorant as you are stupid.

Oh dear, what an ignorant comment. Please stick to running.
It's not an ignorant comment. People are proud of their identities. For thousands of years, people put themselves in little clans/tribes etc. Now that the world is global, a lot of that is being lost. Why do you think sports are so freaking popular?
You root for your local town.
Amazing by Laura Muir, she's finished her studies, and got better.
Good thing Jakob is finished with high school this spring.
3000 m final at 20:47 CET (I do not care to calculate for you overseas guys, but it is two hours ahead of the women 3000 m today).

Everyone should be into the European Championships! They're great, especially the outdoors (a lot of top men especially are missing from this indoors edition), and are taken very seriously by fans and athletes alike. They've got a long history, back to 1934 for the outdoors and back to 1966 for the indoors.
For most athletes, I think if an Olympics is a 10 and a World Championships is a 9.5 then a European Championships is an 8. They're pretty prestigious.
Are there still Germans in Germany? Must be somewhere I can go to experience European culture.
20:47 CET Saturday that is of course.
Timetables for Sunday:
Made my day, what a finish, she destroyed Klinklehoffen. She might be my favourite athlete at the moment. Go Laura!
Lamu ran totally juiced up today, and it showed up great in her finish!

Some of the top Eurocrats have been floating the idea of a EU soccer team at the World Cup and even one EU Olympic team.
Not long after the Brexit vote, an EU parliamentarian posted on her Twitter an Olympic 2016 medal table with the EU at the top but without GB ( to show how small and insignificant we were compared to the EU). A British MP then tweeted an Olympic medal table with all the GB and Commonwealth medals together as one team - which would be more than the USA and the EU combined.
Jurgen the German hates his identity because of his nation's genocidal history. But at the same time the EU allows Germany to control Europe without committing another literal genocide (but a cultural genocide of all national identities).
Literally nobody is floating that idea.
Also, the whole 'They want to make a European super state' is just some the pro-Brexit nonsense that helped convince idiots to vote for brexit.

And in her uncontrollable eye blinking when being interviewed afterwards. V weird.

Well they managed to destroy Greece without a single tank rolling into Athens this time didn't they?
Or are we all just pretending that didn't happen?

Seriously though... you're getting into obvious white nationalism dog-whistle territory here. However you want to defend it and however reasonable it seems in your mind you should remind yourself that every single white supremacist and nazi variant agrees with you completely. If I knew that about the things I believe it would cause me to do some serious soul searching...
Rojo is being a bit of a troll here.
It's interesting to think about who we root for. I'm American but I don't root for random Americans, I'm a huge Laura Muir fan and would root for her basically over anyone. I love watching her run when she gets after it. I also like watching a fair number of Africans -- I mean, who can root against Haile or Eliud?
On the other hand, if there were someone really local to me who I've met, I'll probably root for them over anyone. I know some top cyclists personally and I root for them whenever I see them on TV. I root for the local Bay Area runners whenever I see them race.
Of course is that we don't have to follow our instincts. That's one of the things that separates us as people from animals.
That plus bagels.

People are representing their respective countries at these champs, not the EU as a whole. His comment and your response are both ridiculous exaggerations that don’t pertain to track and field on the global level in championships (which I should remind you, is what this thread is relevant towards). Plus you’re literally agreeing with a white nationalist - esc narrative that does nothing positive for this sport. So yes, it is an ignorant, and irrelevent comment.

It is extremely ignorant since some of the most nationalist and patriotic countries are part of the EU
