Turn down the wokeness factor, Skippy. When an athlete with a non-traditional first and last name competes in the US, the assumption is that they're foreign-born and may speak with an accent. I saw Karel Tilga competing in the decathlon and assumed (correctly) that he'd have a slight accent, does that make me a racist? I too was surprised when I heard Mu get interviewed, but they found out she was born in America.
