Brazier did run faster than anyone ever before for 600m but Mu is a high schooler, and broke the AR and nearly the WR.
We're leaning towards Mu but just want to run it by the powers that be- you.
Interviews with both below:

Come on....WR trumps AR, age doesn't matter.
We knew Brazier was at this level (although his rebound from last year is phenomenal), but Mu is right out of the weeds fringing left field, and she crushed one of the best U.S. 800 runners ever in order to do it. The greatest prep breakthrough performance in history deserves the nod.
You knew Kipchoge was in WR shape, so because you "knew it", it's not impressive? It's a feel good story and she is talented, but a WR is a rare, rare occurrence. Brazier should get the nod.

Jim Ryun defeating the reigning 1500 M Olympic Champ and Mile World Record holder was the greatest prep T&F performance of all time.
Split the page for Brazier andMu.
I'm pretty sure it is in your power to include both on a splash page.
Flip a coin
gotta love the braces - another .5 off the record due less air resistance when these come off

I agree as far as overall, which is why I qualified it with breakthrough perfomance. Ryun had already been to the Olympics, among other top accomplishments.
I will add that she missed the WR by a little over a tenth of a second, as wejo pointed out in her interview.
Side-by-side photos on the splash page isn't an option why?
Split the page. They should share it.
Definetly Athing! I mean both are impressive, but for a high schooler with no experience in the 600m to PR 600m, set and AR, and come within .13 seconds is incredible. Records like this are always more exciting when there wasn’t an intention to set the record. Before going into US champs, Athing wasn’t even thinking of being a medal contender, she was just happy to compete. After prelims, she was amazed with her time, and although she had the fastest going into the finals, most people weren’t even expecting her to win. For a 16 year old to win against all pros, and set all the records she did makes her worthy of this. Most people didn’t even know who she was before this, but her name is now known by track fans around the world. Brazier ran amazing, but he is a pro athlete who had already come within a second of the world record and made his intentions clear to break it. The reaction on Athing’s face when she saw the record says it all.
Brazier should get it. There were so many people that doubted him as a head case when he first turned pro even though he was only 19. Now he's breaking American records and world bests and probably is the only one that can step to Clayton Murphy at his best right now. He deserves it. He's still got years to improve and this is just the beginning.
Male bias here on Lets Run raises its head once again. Clearly, anyone with just a shred of journalistic instinct would instantly recognize that Mu is the bigger story. To underscore, a search of Google News on Mu's name returns about 2,130 results. A similar search on Brazier's name returns a mere 194.
Brazier’s run clearly outlines exactly what I’ve said year after year. The ~1:15 times indoors which everyone gets excited about each year are simply weak. The WRs set last year of 1:14.9 or whatever were just weak.
Sub 1:14 is a far more impressive time and more worthy of the WR. Although I’ll add that there is enough fat there for Brazier to break it again. Sub 1:13.5 is definitely possible.
I just realized that the "WR" for W600 is held by a Russian during the peak of their systemic doping program.
Athing is the clean WR holder.
What is his time worth outdoors? about a 1/4 sec per lap maybe? Close to 1:13 flat.
Would be great to see Brazier, Saruni, Korir, Amos and other?, all in the same outdoor 600m record attempt. Have Sam if he can handle it, go out in low 47, with others following a few tenths behind. It would be close but I think someone would just break the record by a tenth or two.
Both. Crazy people thinking you have to choose one or the other. But if we HAVE to choose, Brazier.

Yeah, give Ryun the splash page he (the old guys who can't let go) deserves!
Brazier record is also basically the American record as it's so rarely run outside America.
