I hate the way professionals run today, hopping in races all over the country just to race.
Back in my day we'd train privately all year long and only show up for 1 or 2 major 'thons a year. -

Back in your day doctors also thought it was cool to smoke, computers were the size of buildings, and we hadn’t mapped the human genome.
What’s your point? -

Moron, he is making fun of the fact back in the day elites used too race very often in road races. Now they don't do so very often. I'd much rather have runners like Yuki Kawuachi and Bill Rodgers, racing every chance they get versus what we got today. I remember the commentators saying, (this was during the Berlin or Tokyo marathon that they said this, I don't recall which one) that Yuta Shitara has to race often or else he gets lazy, according to him. -
Forth Worth isn’t a bad drive from where they live. Good day to race!

Great post!
She’s running a 15km in Atlanta coming up, the a 30km in Hamilton, prior to Boston.
I hope she runs a great Boston. -

London. Her goal race is London.
another note, did she really sign with Asics? No announcement no IG photos, etc. If anything its all old VF photos. Maybe she was in trial period and decided against? -
1:28? wha? was it a fun-run and she was pacing someone? can't be for appearance fees
I know her workouts/recovery has gone to hell since she lost her carbon springs (she actually trained in vaporflys)
but she did a 1:14 two weeks ago in hyperspeeds so that matches her old 65 vdot
I wonder if the new asics metaride will save her, if not she is going to have a real problem past mile 20

Allie likes doing workouts in a race setting I guess. She did similar stuff last buildup to NYC. I think it's cool she is not afraid to put herself in a race despite what the letsrun warriors are going to think when its not some ridiculous time. Most elites are afraid to even publicize their workouts. It does good things for the sport when people can follow an athletes journey, and Allie and Brad have developed a following by being very public with everything. I'm Glad they don't care what the slow bois on letsrun think while they do their best to help bring attention to our sport. -

How do you know her workouts and recovery are worse? Do you have access to her training? If so, please share. I'd like to see what she's doing in her buildup. -

I find their relationship a bit odd, but this is a good point. She may not even be a top 10 US marathoner but has one of the biggest followings and gets plenty of attention. -

What shoes was she wearing? Looking at that post on Brad's instagram, they're definitely asics, but i dont know their line well enough to identify. Are they the new secret ones launching soon?

But did she look relaxed and has she started any 'real' workouts yet?
