you won't see this gutter behaviour from the NOP women or NB .

Class and looks don't always go together. I wonder what she will come out with when she gets her butt kicked by Semenya.
I don't get what the big deal is. She has spent the last three years being injured most of the time and showing up to national/world class meets with only a few weeks of solid/healthy training. The one world championship meet she was healthy for, she was DQ'd. She was excited that she won a national championship and beat someone who everyone thought was unbeatable. If you would have listened to her interview, you would have heard her give major props to Houlihan. She called Houlihan dominant in every event she competes in and practically said that Houlihan had a down night, which was why she was able to win. I'm not crazy about the "f...yeah" either, but I don't think it was that big of a deal.

She's so unlady-like. I would suggest an intervention.

Having balls doesn't always equate with vulgar behaviour, even though almost everything nowadays is the fault of men.

You're right. In fact it should be a requirement for every winner to thus let rip when they cross the line. And we should hear more of it from the race commentators, too.
You are ok with any language even if offensive to others? Shouldn’t we all be sensitive to others? Are you ok with the N word? Or how about not referring to a transgender by the gender of their choosing? I guess you just have no respect for others.

Facetious comment doesn't come up on your radar?

What NOP women? I didnt see any in the race. Have they been banned from competing in the US?
The NB women are on a team that only sponsors attractive females who wear bun huggers that are 2 sizes too small
LOL! NB uniforms have always been the ugliest. This years lime green is nasty and yes, too small. Why does every female have their ass hanging out? Since discussing uniforms Adidas's is only a tick above NB. That clown outfit that Hunter was wearing was horrid. The greasy long hair combined with the uniform won him nastiest runner of the meet award. what is so hard about putting together a nice looking kit?

That’s nothing. At the end of a victorious race, Caster Semenya was heckled by someone yelling “Go F yourself!” Caster replied “ Actually, I can do just that.”

Not a valid comparison. It was the heckler who was offensive - and truly offensive - not Semenya, who (if this tale is true) handled it pretty well. I'm not a Semenya fan but it shows her in a better light than one of the more crass "ladies" of the track, with her expletive outburst in winning that was broadcast to the world.
She is freakin gorgeous and fast. Her agent should have endorsement deals lined up.

I don't have a problem with a fist pump and a four-letter word. But Quigley's celebration seemed less than gracious.. and to her own teammate, of all people.
I think there's a bit of sexism embedded in that reaction, as I haven't had a problem with Centro's celebrations over the years. But something about it is also the fact that she was clearly dying to beat her own teammate, something that wasn't the case with Centro. It's not a good look.
You may be right about the sexism, cuz when I think hard about it, I don't think I would've bothered to start a thread if, say, Donovan Brazier, a male athlete w/ a clean-cut image, had done the same thing. Not that I found it shocking at all, but I think I have an older-school expectation that men in general are more prone to use expletives and that it's "less proper" for women. Will need to examine that personal bias.
As for her celebration being being less than gracious toward her own teammate, I don't think we can conclude that. It could also be that she was over-the-top thrilled to win an national title — was this for the first time? — and her emotions fueled the finish line pronouncement.
Finally, a LOT of people on here got bent out of shape when Centro did the throat-slash gesture.
Thanks for posting.
Does sportsmanship matter? Or only winning? Or looks? Is crowing at beating others good sportsmanship? Or blurting out expletives to the cameras and microphones - whether you win or lose? Is that sportsmanship? Apparently, these questions don't matter on Letsrun - even from those who vehemently deny their heroes could be doping, because we know that doping is the ultimate form of bad sportsmanship.
Fuk ya, Fuk u, Fuk me.
Triplets - check
Is this a bigger deal than Lebron walking off the court last night?
Using vulgar language is not a trait that sponsors look for in an athlete. Sponsorship contracts specifically list this as a reason to drop an athlete.
Displays of vulgarity are unwise unless you are planning a career in hip hop.
That immature outburst may end up being very costly to her.
