Major turn-off
Major turn-off
Major turn-on. F-yeah!
The F-bomb is just part of our culture, like it or not. I took my elderly parents to a movie. Standing in line, the guys ahead of me were dropping the F-bomb left and right, in front of my parents. I didn't like it, but that's the way it is. Same thing happened at a Starbucks recently. A guy was trying to impress a woman with his coolness, and F-bombs were prime material. I told him to quit forcing his offensive language on all the mommies and their kids sitting all around us. Didn't tell him to shut the F up, though! He apologized - an effin' rarity, though.
I don't have a problem with a fist pump and a four-letter word. But Quigley's celebration seemed less than gracious.. and to her own teammate, of all people.
I think there's a bit of sexism embedded in that reaction, as I haven't had a problem with Centro's celebrations over the years. But something about it is also the fact that she was clearly dying to beat her own teammate, something that wasn't the case with Centro. It's not a good look.
Teammate beating is assault

glad i disagree with jaming
She wasn't going to date you anyway, Jamin.
Quigley really is the only American runner who can even come close to competing with Genzebe Dibaba in the race for most beautiful athlete on the planet.
I like the disappearance of words that are considered unacceptable in our society. I think it's arbitrary and dumb that some words are just not okay irrespective of their meaning.
What is annoying to me is that some journalists now rely on these words for impact. Headlines like "X is so F-ing Amazing but You'll Never Get to Try It" are awful. There are too many journalists who suddenly find themselves in this "cuss words are okay" world and are responding like 12 year-olds who are cussing for the first time.

Any woman who disrespects the track like that should be barred from competing.

"Not a big deal," say the social liberals and atheist crusaders of the day. Oh, right, it's no big deal for a public figure to make a sexually-explicit reference at a national event. Crude, sinful language leads to crude, sinful behavior. This is not rocket science, it's common sense! I witnessed Colleen Quigley's use of inappropriate language on camera with my impressionable teenage daughter (an avid track fan). Though I was frightened for her moral development, I did not anticipate the full consequences of what had occurred.
Today, I found out that my daughter has become a meth-addict who has sex with older men for money in order to sustain her drug habit. There were no warning signs. She confessed that she tried copying Quigley's language on Saturday night and things immediately spiraled out of control from there. YEARS of weekly church services and my husband's nightly bible lessons down the drain, all because of one classless hussy and her dirty, forked tongue. Burn in hell USATF!
Can I get her #?
I would drink Quigleys bath water so idc

If this were real, I would ask you to please take your crucifix, point it in whatever direction you like, and jam it up your she-trench.
But it is, instead, a skillful example of satire. Well done.
Who cares what she said, great to see some competivness and personality, plus she's gorgeous to look at.
So long as "f… yeah!" is a gateway to hearing "f… me!"
I agree it is profane, and a poor example for those who look up to her. But then most of the kids watching would probably cuss you at the drop of a hat.
Sorry, feeling a cynical tonight.

Just listen to the top hip hop songs the youth today are listening to. Dropping to f- bomb today is nothing.
This is top-tier Letsrunposting. Thank you.
