Hunter 8:25.29 2 mile with 4:17, 4:08 splits. Probably not enough to seriously affect the top heat, but not bad at all.

Hunter just won the slow heat of the 2 mile in 8:25.
To find those results and splits, you have to go down to the 2 mile final listed at 7:47 pm in the USATF link.
Ran with pack to one mile, then soloed the second. Good effort; too bad they didn't let him in the fast heat.
Hunter looks waaaaaay different.
Also, watched my first ever race walk. The Christie guy looked like he was jogging compared to the rest of them.

Announcer did say Hunter's time broke the previous meet record set in 2015 by Ryan Hill, by a second.

Wasn’t that at Alberquerque though? It’s about 7:47 for the 3k. No guarantee that they break that, of course, but they’re smart enough not to be tactical after that.

True. And now at least we won't have to gnash our teeth through another slow-ass yawner of a final that's nothing but a prelude to a second-class 400m race.

Drew putting the heat on the final!

No, Boston.
Meet is now on TV on NBCSN.
What a run by HS junior Athing Mu in the women's 600. She went right to the front of heat 1 and blasted a 1:26.23, which broke Sammy Watson's US HS record (1:27.13) by almost a second.
Very little drama in the 1k prelims. The three women who have gone sub-2:00 in the 800 this year all made it through (Ajee' Wilson, Ce'Aira Brown, Charlene Lipsey). In the men's 1k, Clayton Murphy looked very smooth to win his heat. Robby Andrews didn't look great but made it in on time. Biggest name to go home was Drew Piazza (5th at USAs last year in the outdoor 800).
US Army guys better use team tactics in the 2mile, otherwise nobody will have the balls to make it honest and get under 8'25
I was not very excited for the women's 600 before but I definitely am now. Raevyn Rogers ran 1:26.53 to win heat 4 and is the favorite, but now I want to see what Mu can do. She's only 16 years old.

Lawi is the only Army guy here. Rest are focused on XC, I presume.
Bowerman and Brooks will have to pitch in.
Down goes Houlihan!
Damn Colleen looked so smooth that last 400! What a great race. Shelby definitely missing that final gear in this race
Quigley wanted this one, no doubt. Is this her first US title?
Houlihan let her have it
Woah, Houlihan got beat?!??!!
