I think there are two different ways in which Mzungo could be wrong/"rarely true" in his workout reports:
1) The splits he reports for EK could be inaccurate (this seems more likely)
2) The workouts themselves could be reported incorrectly (eg: he reports 10 x 1k with 2:00 recoveries, but they actually ran 6 x2k)
The second one seems less likely to me, and would be more troubling if true... the thread doesn't have much value if the actual information serving as its foundation is fabricated.
Still, would be a great troll.
Mzungo, can you comment on how confident you are in the information you have presented? Personally, I don't think he needs 100% confidence in all of the info for it to be a valuable and appreciated insight into an elite training camp about which we would otherwise hear close to nothing.
I have to say that some of these workouts are 100% true as my source even sent me some photos of the notebook the assistant coach of the group uses. As for the other ones, i don't see any reason why he would lie or make up any of these workouts. True, they might not be 100% accurate, to the second, however not even gps watches are, so the point is moot.
I wasn't there so i can only trust the source, but if Marc knows something happened differently, i encourage him to make it public and share his point of view, as it would only benefit the world of running. In my opinion, considering the western mentality, it's hard to accept and make some details public of your work so others won't be able to gain from your experience. Probably by instinct he just dismissed the fact the group's (and his) work are public while others' is not.
To end this, i want to say i have confidence in my source and i'm open to anything and not accusing him or Marc or anyone, i'm sure Sang and Eliud wouldn't be reluctant to this, so if anything happened differently, he can share his thoughts with us!
