Well done Jordan 13:29 over a quality field.

Out kicked 13.05 guy Stewie Mcsweyn. No one saw that coming! Gave Nic Bidaeu a hernia.
Wow he got his ass handed to him in a 10k not too long ago by McSweyn and Jack Rayner and McSweyn just ran a great 1500 behind Tefera and Kejelcha. Tinmen keep on trucking.
Tinman tough for sure. Sat on Stee until 200m to go. Tin men need to actually get a world standard before this hype is warranted.
Love the shifting goalposts! Good run by Gusman; didn’t see that coming.

He out kicked a guy who just ran 3:35 and won the race. Seems like a pretty good result considering championships are about winning not time. No extra hype needed.
It's fun to see strong running from Australia. I'm interested to follow the progress of these guys through the spring and summer.
Smart racing. McSweyn probably still jet lagged and feeling the euro tour.

Have been saying the whole time.
Run the World/Olympic standard and you can say elite. Drew Hunter only person Tinman has coached to standard.
If you knew him, you’d know that kick was coming. Gusman was a 400m/800m guy in under 20s.
48. for 800m and 1:48 for 800m.
He should be a miler but wants to run longer races.

Nah, he should do the steeple. Easiest way to an Aussie singlet. Has to beat Mathews, Gregson, Williamsz, Riseley, mabe others in the 1500 and has yet to run close to the standard. Steeple is a much weaker field and, given his 5k chops, if he can learn to hurdle he would crush it.
All he needed to do was leave Canberra to hit a new level, pretty sure everyone knows it's the ultimate hand brake of a training environment
If anyone else is interested, here is a video fo the race:

The uploader sounds a bit angry. I don't know either runner (other than their names) but thought it was fair game to sit and kick. Props to McSweyn for trying frontrunning. Maybe he thought he would have more in the tank. Probably should have winded it up more slowly from 2k out (Klosterhalfen style) instead of going hard after 5 minutes and leaving no kick in his legs. You always know more afterwards though.

LMAO, the person who uploaded the video has the title as,"Stewart McSweyn beaten by Tinman b*tch Gusman at Sydney Track Classic 5000 Metres 2019". Than in tbe description he says, "Steward took pacing duties early on and was followed by f* cking twat Guzman wo proceeded to clip his feet for the rest of the race and jump him in the Last 300m. What was worse is that he didnt even say thanks to Stewart, instead slapping his hand like a basic b* tch. Great commentary none the less.".
Lol that would have been warranted had McSweyn waved Gusman on to share the lead but he never did. He thought he was just going to be able to run away with it and rightly so bc he's been on fire for a long time but a great run by both nonetheless. I really would not have predicted that at the start but a guy with wheels like Gusman has you have to drop him earlier.
