I think Jakok will show something special today.
He has been better this winter than last. He jogged a 3.36.
But luckily this is track, everything can happen :-)

Are you serously discussing the outcome oft this race? Tefera has set the WR and for sure is the heavy favourite.

There is no way Tefera is 19, he looks older than me and I'm middle-aged
pics?
He looks like he could be 19.

It's not that obvious. There are three runners with sub 3:30 capabilities in the race tonight.
Bram Som turned 39 today! That's pretty crazy!
My guess:
WR for Tefera
NR for Filip
WJR for Jakob
PB for Henrik

It's obvious - if not something really strange happens, Tefera will win.
3 runners with sub 3:30 capabilities? Only one, and he has sub 3:28 capabilities (and he was not born in Sandnes).

Since when are you watching athletics? Last week?
Jakob FTW. It will be team Ingebrigtsen vs Tefera and I think Tefera will be blocked by the Norwegians and forced to run wide. The only way he is going to win is if it's fast from the start and he runs another 3:31.

I do not watch or really keep up with the Ingebrigtsen guys since I mainly watch US Runners or people who train here lol. But Am I missing something about Filip? Does he win races he shouldn't win? I would think everyone would pick the New world record holder to win but no one is.
Certainly Tefera could win, but I don’t think he will be at his best in a race a few days after setting the World Record, and Filip is no slouch as a World Championships bronze medalist.
I think there are several in the field that could potentially win. Something uncommon during indoors, and exciting.
I didn't read through all of the posts, but I did want to comment on this one. Time and time again people break records back-to-back. I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks the record again being pushed by the brothers, especially given how he races. His fitness right now is amazing.

People break records back-to-back? Aha. Can you please give some examples for this bold statement.
Tefera will not break the record but for sure he will win the race easily.
Henrik is not running.

Yeah, and Kejelcha was just the heavy favorite on Saturday. Guess what happened? He lost.
Gjert comments that 3:31 is impossible for Jakob currently. 3:33 at best. He also categorizes Tefera as one of those runners that runs awfully fast in periods and then plain mediocricy without further comment.
Tefera's 3:31 was not a world junior record. To set a WJR, you can't turn 20 during the year you set it. Tefera turns 20 in October.
Tefera gets confused when the pace is not fast? He won World Indoors in 3:58 last year. I think the more likely explanation is that he was worn down by July. His indoor races and early outdoor races were terrific last year, but he struggled in July and August (not just at World Juniors).

The pacer is aiming for 2:23 at 1000 so not WR pace.

Hmm.. Can't seem to find it on any major channel.
From the IAAF site ... "The local broadcaster in Norway amended their coverage plan so tonight's live stream from Dusseldorf on the IAAF's YouTube channel will be available to viewers in Norway as well."

Wilson Kipketer 1997.
Ayanleh Souleiman broke the indoor 1000m record in 2016. He lost his next race in Glasgow and then got his a$$ kicked at World Indoor.

Jakob passed 1000m at 2:26.5 when recording 3:36:21 and ran solo from 860m. 27.5 laps are though, but within practical range.
