So which one breaks it?
So which one breaks it?
Irrelevant, if it was worth breaking then Usain Bolt would have done it.
The 3 real guys with a chance are the ingerbrigtsen brothers.
Cheruiyot runs 3:25.xx at Monaco
cheserek is NOT "currently" capable of breaking the indoor record. he's coming back from injury and other stuff. i think he has a better chance outdoors, but I doubt he'll run the mile outdoors
Kejelcha definitely has the ability to run fast, but I think as long as a runner like Tefera is in the same race he has no shot. Needs to be able to kick and not get broken. I think he still has a high ceiling and has potential to develop some more leg speed under Salazar.
i'm not familiar with Tefera's training, i'm hoping he's not a one-hit wonder.
As the word indoor champ and now the world record holder indoors, he’s already not a one hit wonder.

To be fair Tefera sat on him the whole time. But I see what youre saying

Kind of invalidates his whole post, doesn't it? Why even comment on something when you have seemingly no knowledge of the subject? What's with this place?

I love that whole sat on him thing. As if there really was an aid to a draft in running. They don't run fast enough for a draft. and its more the control of pace, which at that level of race is so well timed that every one is pretty equal if they can keep up.

What? He cannot run anywhere close to 3:43 outdoors

Have you ever raced? Sitting behind someone is beneficial. Technically there isn't a draft because that would require a vacuum be created and suck the person in behind them reducing a serious amount of drag. However, sitting behind someone will reduce some drag. The person in front breaks most of the air resistance allowing a reduction for the person behind them. This has been studied extensively. Look it up.
Cheruiyot or Manangoi?

You aren't right about this. Drafting even matters a few percent at marathon pace.
Cheserek?? Are you kidding. I love the guy and all but he’s injured right now. I would say JOSH KERR has a good chance at the WR provided he stays in shape and keeps away from the injuries.
Drafting makes a significant difference. Saying otherwise is so idiotic when talking about a hundreds year old sport where 99% of the distance records were set with front-running pacers. Even if it were a 1% difference then in a mile race you're talking about being 2+ seconds back without drafting.
Let's not forget that David Rudisha might still move up in distance...
Lol. Cheserek is done. There are 30 other guys faster than him now. Last winter was his peak
