I guess it's not hard to figure it out what Kipchoge might want to do in his next marathon if you really paid attention to the past few years.
1.He feels he is still in the peak of his fitness capabilities and his training has been going smoothly, near perfect i would say and he is about 3 weeks away from entering the final phase for the London marathon.
Given great weather, which he didn't really have in Berlin, he will attack the world record again.
2.He wants to win and thus will get the record of most London wins. How will he try to do that? Well, by doing the same art he perfectioned since 2013. Being relentless and really fast. He won't want to have Mo clipping his heels 10k from the finish, or any other competitor.
That's why i think, giving ideal weather, he and Sang will request a 60:45 half or so and try to slightly negative split it. The others will have no choice, either they go out at this suicidal pace and be a hero or blow up in an epic way, or settle for a more manageable pace and forget about the win. What is sure though. is that the organisers will employ some ridiculously quality pacers.
Here's my take, Eliud will go for the world record, breaking the remnant of the opposition around the 30k mark and get it if weather will be ideal or near miss it otherwise.
