Shock horror: slow people exist ? wrote:
This is going to shock you but lots of people in the 20+ range for a 5k run track intervals, I am one of those people.
Age?
Male or female?
Mileage?
Number of years running?
Height and weight?
Nutrition and hours of sleep at night?
Weather conditions and elevation gain in that 5K?
External life stresses?
PRs in other distances?
Who knows, you might even be a fast twitch guy who would be a good sprinter.
Yes! Help me get faster, I am sick of being slow ?
- Female
- 39
- 50 mpw
- 7 years of running
- 5’3 and 113 lbs, 21% body fat measured on some scales at a gym
- Diet: I grew up on healthy foods and enjoy them so my diet has always been good. 95% paleo foods, lots of homemade cooking, we do not eat gluten or soy. Lots of protein and we cook with olive and avacodo oils. I have a family history of hypothyroidism so I know I have to watch my diet mor than most, although I will drink 3 glasses of wine each friday night. Usually around 1800 cal per day give or take 150 cal each way
- Macros on an average day: 50% carbs, 25% fat, 25% protein
- 7 hours of sleep per night, would prefer more
- Most recent 5k was 5 weeks ago. It was slightly cold, no wind, flat course - PR 21:27
- No current stress that I can think of apart from that I feel quite lonely because of my lack of dating life recently. No children, I work as a chef at a bar, I like my job and wouldn’t say I’m stressed in general.
- 100m: 15.7 400m: 1:14 // 800m: 2:48 // Mile: 6:16 // 10k: 45:57 // 10 Mile: 1:21
Longer distance doesn’t interest me at all, I have half-assed a couple of HMs and ran in the 1:50 region.
