Great performance.
It needs to be said so I'm just gonna say it: clean world record.
How do you know?

Will KoKo and Muir both run the 1500 at Euros? Man, I hope so. Not sure when I would bet on at this point.
You're joking , right? You're not sure who to bet on?
Laura Muir was #1 in the world last year and has the better SB. Bet on her.
Your joking. We have not seen KOko run when someone else takes on the pace and she drafts. Bet on Koko .
It is possible that we have seen a woman nearly capable of a sub 4 already in peak Dibaba. 3:42.xx is 4 minute mile equivalent. When Dibaba ran 3:50.07, she was paced for 800m and she picked it up. She also ran 4 seconds faster than in Barcelona soon before. She closed in 59.79 with no one. Sifan Hassan was six seconds back, though dropped six m by the bell.
If she were drafted illegally by a man the whole way, she had the capacity to run mid 3:40s, I would bet, and low 4, maybe 4:04 or better. In the race, she went out in 60.3, then slowed to 2:04.5 because Chanelle Price, her pacer, was not able to keep the pace, then she got to 1100m in 2:50.28.
60.3
64.2
45.8 (61.1 pace)
59.79
In the 1100m either by herself or at the pace she wanted, she ran 2:45.9. Give her a pacer the entire way like many of the men's sub 4 milers, and she'd have come pretty close. Of course, she had drugs coming out of her ears, the vast collection of drugs in her coach and trainer's hotel rooms in Sabadell, but that was the closest to a women's four minute miler we'll see in our lifetimes.

Nope. Muir went through half way like 3 seconds slower than Koko did and then ended up running over a second faster. That 4:18 was basically a tactical race; 2:12/2:06. Klosterhalfen I think ran like 2:09 and then 2:10.

What is... said: Can you define "woman", or for that matter, "man"?
how the IAAF determine who can run in which category is entirely up to them. it's their game, they make the rules. but as far as biology goes humans are mammals and like all other mammals they have two sex chromosomes. women have XX, men have XY.
it isn't complicated.
cheers.
Right. There should be one class of competitors. Mammals. Some, of course will have four legs. But don't let that worry you. Cheers again.
Must be clean. Look at the genetic and environmental advantages Scots have, the example of obviously clean UK previous champions in cycling and running, and the generally higher ethics of the UK and European countries in sports (e.g. the high ethics of cyclists). Maybe we should limit championships to just UK and Europe.
Shows what easy access to veterinary drugs can do for you.

Melinte was certainly dirty. Wasn't Dibaba's coach caught red handed in a drug raid in Spain????
Yes, a room full of epo and steroids. Dibaba slept in the room just two a long.
Re the commenter above with the comments about advantages etc Scotland has... i get it. One thing I have struggled with when mass accusations of Kenyan or Ethiopian doping are made - like in the 1500 - are we seriously saying a country like Kenya where athletics number 1 sport cannot match the times a country like the uk had 30 years ago (3 under 331). Why shouldn’t Kenya be able to have folks go 2–3 seconds faster?
Secondly - was still regular at uk champs as little as 5 years ago so have heard plenty of what folks say about Farah (if you know you know) / what is the scoop on Laura Muir - is she pushing the envelope with supplements etc?
And I should not have diverted thread. I absolutely love watching laura Muir run - and think she gets regular folks with no ties to athletics behind her as well. Once in a generation experience we’ve got here just now.

Muir has a 3:55 1500m PB from when she wasn't a full time athlete. She is full time now, so bet on her,

Just as easy to have your own doctor, who will prescribe whatever you need. Or support your claim that despite having testes you are still a woman.
I have such a crush on Laura! And I love the way she races- she's not afraid to go after it.

Except of course for Alan Wells for example.

That’s a really weird thing to bring up. Are you insinuating that she takes animal stimulants to better her performances, or that those drugs enhance the performances of humans?

Perhaps she gets blood transfusions from a Pronghorn in the Glasgow Zoo?
