Will KoKo and Muir both run the 1500 at Euros? Man, I hope so. Not sure when I would bet on at this point.

Koko has not yet announced what she will do at the EC, AFAIK.

BTW she ran 8:32.47 (PB NR WL) today in the German indoors, closing with the last 400m in 61.12.

Alina Reh "paced" her up to 2400m (2'55 5'50) getting second in new PB of 8:43.72. If she stays healthy Reh will go sub 31 in the 10k in summer.

Melinte was certainly dirty. Wasn't Dibaba's coach caught red handed in a drug raid in Spain????

Well, Koko is clearly not going to run away from Laura, as given better pacemaking, Laura surely could have run a couple of seconds, at least, faster today, and if they are together with 200m to go, you can only really see one winner.

However, it is possible that Koko will find more speed. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

Anyway, it's all exciting stuff.

for those of you who were asking just recently whether a woman would ever break four minutes in the mile, a man ran 4:18.4 for 1 mile in June 1858, and it took a further 96 years before a man broke 4 minutes.

how the IAAF determine who can run in which category is entirely up to them. it's their game, they make the rules. but as far as biology goes humans are mammals and like all other mammals they have two sex chromosomes. women have XX, men have XY.

it isn't complicated.

Laura Muir was #1 in the world last year and has the better SB. Bet on her.

Apparently her 1500 split was also a NR, according to Muirs tweet, but it didn't give her time, anyone know?

I love watching Muir and this race.

I barely ran faster than her in college indoors and no way do I see myself in my mind looking that good and running that strongly and with grit. Makes me appreciate how fast I was, which is nothing for men, but she looks so smooth.
