Perfectly run race. Is he really 19? Amazing.

Plu a BIG time talent does need EPO to run 3:31. 3:31 was first run in 1980 LONG BEFORE EPO was invented.
I think a bunch of thyroid meds could be useful in helping one be "on" all the time but one doesn't need EPO to run 3:31.
The few people who ran 3:31 flat or sub in the '80's for the most part had top level 800m speed.
That changed with EPO.

Look at his picture, and tell me if you really think he looks 19. Regardless, if he's 19 or 29, it was a great run.
What about a video of Laura Muir's 4:18 mile?

I mean Kejelcha is suspicious in my opinion, and now a 19 year old beats him and the WR of an undoubted doper.
Why would anyone want to be running 3:31 indoors in February anyway? Suggests 3:27 outdoors.
About time the IAAF clamp down as thoroughly on Ethiopian athletes as they have on Kenyans in recent years. Their work is far from done.
That was pretty bad. Wasnt even breathing through his mouth. Totally relaxed. Zero stress or strain. Straight into a jog with no hard breathing AT ALL. I mean, at least pretend like it was difficult. Something really needs to be done.
It was a bit much. Kejelja looked suitably stressed, but Tefera was downright bored in his expression. Not a great look for the sport.
Oh dear.
Egregiously fraudulent performance. The EPO use is obvious. The "19-year-old" nonsense is just the cherry on top.
Anyone who condones this nonsense isn't only offering tacit support to a cheating athlete, but is also lending support to the drug-peddlers, exploitative Italian coaches and agents, corrupt institutions like the IAAF and so on. It's pure, pathetic boot-licking. Stop it.

You're an expert on drugs are you? You sure he's not doping on something different to EPO - maybe a bit of talent in the mix too?

I wouldn't accuse him or anyone of doping for the simple reason of running fast without proof or any link to a doping program or one suspected of doing so. One thing though seems interesting, Ethiopians seem so good with indoors but when it comes to outdoors they tend not to be as great. Genzebe is superb indoors, winning and setting many records and though she holds the world record outdoors(1500m), she is at best number 3. The same applies to Tefera who did not even medal in world junior champs last year. Neither did he medal in African champs. There was Muhammed Aman who won world indoors twice and though he won 2013 world outdoor champs, he has fizzled out. The reason they are quite good indoors is probably because of their short and skinny stature which makes going around turns easily.

I often see acusations of age cheating on LR, but I don't understand what Tefera's motive would be. He's obviousy freakishly talented. If he's really 25 he would have become world class 5 years ago.

Only 19. He didnt even seem to be breathing hard at the end. And I dont even think he knew he broke the WR.
Amazing running, kicking past Kejelcha in the last 100, who didnt have anything left.
Will Salazar now recruit him?
All too ridiculously easy! Very strange reaction at end and looked like he was on a training jog.

About time the IAAF clamp down as thoroughly on Ethiopian athletes as they have on Kenyans in recent years. Their work is far from done.
At least they have to be subjected to 3 out of competition blood tests before Doha.
This all has the air of 'last dance at the EPO party'.
These guys probably loaded to the max over the winter, are peaking to break WRs in February in order to get some big appearance money cheques for the summer, which they hope to cash before the inevitable busts.

Hahahaha the perfect post of desperation. Wanders training in Africa? Clean. Yomif training in the US? Doper. Your inconsistency is astounding. Sorry your boy is 5 seconds back!

Nice race you guys had here, what a joke. Tefera's post-race demeanor kind of reminds me of when Nesta Carter ran his smoking 9.78 100m in Rieti, only to have been later revealed as a doper--but whereas Carter was obviously just hoping he wouldn't get caught, Tefera looks to be an absolute flake. It wouldn't surprise me if he was being doped entirely without his knowledge. Dumber than a bag of hammers.

You're implying that he ran at less than 100% effort. If he ran at 98% effort, an all out race would be 3:27.

Sir, I wish to hire you to read into people, judging their intelligence purely by looks is a phenomenal skill!
Tefera ridiculous effortless, no breathing, how can be? after decades of running i cannot understand.
after finishing never looked back to Kejelcha, no thank you for pulling to wr. seems like a a$$.
Another High Carb athlete success !! Eat s*** all you I cross fit, personal fitness gurus, and indoor rowing 'WR Holders. Tefera does not appear to suffer from, low energy, diabetes, brain fog or arterial blockage. While I am sure he occasionally eats meat I doubt if he ever had a rivets or new York steak,

100% agree with your post.
Not even breathing hard, no sign of effort.
I don’t believe their age either.
