I've been thinking about moving out of the concrete shithole that I currently live in. Figure I should take advantage of the fact I can work from anywhere. Where would you go?

Bozeman, Montana
Boulder. But you would need a big downpayment for a home
You might indicate a few things you enjoy doing. For example, like surfing, want to live on a boat, might want to pop down to Mexico now and then? Try out San Diego. Like getting into backcountry in both winter and summer? Maybe Tahoe. Like fly fishing and river trips? somebody already mentioned bozeman. Want to live in a cultural center? L.A., NYC, SF, all depending on the type of culture you're into.
Flagstaff, Eugene, Mammoth Lakes anyone?
I’d get out of there. Canada looks good.
Tough one. For climate reasons, I'd probably avoid most of the midwest, the south, and the far northern states. I like to travel quite a bit, so being within an hour of a major airport is pretty important. I wouldn't want to live anywhere that cost of living made $120k seem tight, so that rules out most of the big cities.
Looking at a list of top 50 places to live, here is my short list that I would take a closer look at:
Austin
Denver
Nashville
Salt Lake City
Maybe Boise
Maybe Reno
And I include the surrounding areas of those cities.
Colorado, probably boulder or somewhere near there.
Or New Mexico. Somewhere in Santa Fe or Albuquerque.
Cool discussion....
As a single dude, I'd probably say Moab, Utah.
Since I am married and planning to have kids in the near future, I would probably say Boulder.
Taking into consideration my family is all in Michigan, I might choose somewhere in Northern Michigan.

Don't move to Salt Lake City. It's horrible, and you'll hate it.
My likes really haven't changed that much since 25. Maybe now I'd want a little quieter scene but I wasn't a club goer back then. I was already married. At either age, id want outdoor activities but to be close to some city life. Being close to entertainment was probably more important then.
Then
Santa Cruz, CA
Flagstaff, AZ
Portland, OR
Now
Moro Bay, CA
Sedona, AZ
Ashland, OR
I've always been intrigued about dense urban life. Spent some time on the upper west side of Manhattan. That was pretty nice, but I wouldn't want to do without easy access to the outdoors.
Yeah, Boulder has always been my ideal city, however I can only just barely afford it and it will probably only get worse as more Californians flow in. Therefore, I've been trying to catch the next boulder and I think that might be Flagstaff, Boise, or somewhere unheard of yet.
Sante Fe.
Isn't Santa Fe already very expensive given that like half the residents have a PhD in physics?
Your budget makes it tough. Would you have time to take on a side gig to bump up your income a bit?
Cleveland
If you want to chase girls, San Diego. If you want to be outdoors Salida.
Pittsburgh PA
What do you do for work?
I'll vote for my home, Nashville. No state income tax, lower cost of living, it's convenient to travel to and from here to most places in the US.
Lots of young people flocking to the city, not just for music, and that music is not just country music these days.
