She is staying at A&M to train and continue going to school, does that sound like she is trying to leave a toxic enviroment?

If you believe this, I've got a bridge to sell you.
No way. IF this was the case, why wouldn't she wait 4 weeks until after the NCAA championships?
What's so pressing about doing it now if her training environment, coaching, and schooling doesn't change?
There is no way a coach is going to happily coach her and allow her to use the facilities after leaving him hanging 2 weeks prior to the conference meet.

Would she qualify for conference or ncaa championships in the next few weeks?
Coe did 8 x 800 in 1:52 to 2:00 and she can only manage one at 2:06? Someone is seriously paying this person?
Or she wants to start making some money...
Devin Dixon and Carlton Orange say "hello."
Yes, especially with losing her Coach shortly before Indoor Championship season 2018
and a suitable replacement never hired.
The new coach was there as soon an francique left and I recall that 800 group (men and womens) having a pretty damn good year.
She should consider transferring. Pro? She isn't even going to make the NCAA finals. Who is advising this woman?

She won't make the NCAA champs with her time right now (2:06), but she could potentially get it at the conference meet. It will only take 2:05 high to get in.
And of course she'd qualify for conference. She'd help the A&M women a lot at conference. She's ranked #3 in the SEC, less than a second behind #1.
It's fairly obvious this move would not be popular with he A&M coaches if you know anything about them. Sammy was just told to say everything is fine and dandy to help A&M and herself spin this positively.
If you don't think every shoe company is going to use this season against her in negotiating $, then you don't understand the game.
She's likely going pro now because she knows she might miss NCAA indoors, and that potentially reduces her value even more. If this was about her accomplishing everything she wanted to, she would have turned pro right after winning NCAA's. She's likely cost herself a significant amount of $$$ by going pro right now.
The better move might have been to see if she could get things back on track or transfer somewhere she felt confident in and drive up her value.

She will still have problems after turning Pro, but at least she will be RICH with the problems.
I remember this was said by a player who was drafted in the NBA, I can't remember who said that, but the same applies to her, they probably threw LeBron James kind of Money at her, she can still do what she loves to do which is run Track, but now she can take her own private plane to meets, instead of going to a dorm room after practice, now she can go home to her mansion, instead of going shopping, she can make a list and have her servants go shopping for her etc.

relax, you are giving coaches way too much credit here. Athletes run the races and when they run well the coach looks good.
If she isn't running well (and she isn't) it is on her.
Coaches don't make athletes, it is usually the other way around.
Hey Rojo,
Thanks for your participation in this thread and convincing me once again what a complete toxic element you are to this sport. Looking forward to giving me money and attention to publications and message boards that aren't filled with angry old men.
Suck a trump ball.
BOOM this is the correct reason. She just ran a pathetic 2:06 and I'm sure she doesn't believe in the training anymore. Time to get out before it's too late.

What happened to Francique? Why did he leave A&M? Anyone know the scoop?
The people on here are crazy. In 2015, Watson was ran a 52.69 open 400. Last year, she only ran 54.77. And now she's regularly splitting 55 on the 4 x 400? And you're not worried? I'm worried.

Let’s not overreact. Even Clayton Murphy ran poorly in college at times and as a pro. Talent doesn’t go away
Talent does go away for teenage women. Happens ALL THE TIME. Well that talent is there but their body changes and they need more talent to move that body.

Yeah, he's a real idiot. He just coached Devin Dixon to a world record split in the 4 x400 and to the American collegiate record in the 800.

The year Sammy ran 2:00 - her first races of indoors/outdoors were each 2:07 / 2:08.
Totally misleading. In 2017, when she ran 2:00, she ran 2:03.94 at the end of January. This year, at the end of January after already running a 1k, DNFing a mile and a 4 x 400, she ran 2:06 in her 4th race of the year. That's NOT good.
She definitely could have gone pro after NCAAs, but even if she cant' find a shoe company willing to pay her more than her college scholarship and even if A&M won't take her back, plenty of colleges will be happy to give her a full ride to run for the rest of her NCAA career even if she could only 2:06.
She isn't going to be rich! You are confusing her with Sydney M. She will get shoes and a uniform.
She likely does not know if she is able to actually go pro or not, and *most likely* believes she has a much higher financial value in the market than she actually does.
The fact that you let people you don't know on this board get you so upset to act immature enough to say "go f**k yourself" is very concerning. You need legitimate help. I am thankfully able to not let anonymous posters on this board get the better of me.
