Number A1) Any time at all that I see someone break four for the first time, preferably at a cozy indoor track where the crowd goes from uninterested to fully invested over the course of a few laps. I don't have any because it's not one specific moment, but each time it happens.
As for a discrete events- Hall winning the '08 Trials. I was watching near the finish line and his emotion as he came into the finish was the same kind of thing you see with each new 3:59.XX guy- an overwhelming feeling that it was all totally worth it.
