I’m running a marathon on Sunday and shooting for sub 2:50. My original plan was to go out bang on 4/km and try to speed up after 25k, but I just found out that they have pacers for 2:45.
Not sure if the benefits of running with a group and not having to worry about splits is worth almost 5s/km though?
My previous pb is 2:59 from 2 years ago, but I am a lot more fit now. Would suck to bonk hard, but also nobody remembers a coward.
What do you think, run my own race and try to neg split for a 2:47-2:48 or go for broke with 2:45 group?
