Where is the video of the race? Runnerspace has it blacked out on their replay of the webcast. There is no Mens 3000 clip on Runnerspace, and NBCs screwed up coverage opted for shotput over the 3k. What a disjointed mess.

He is more American then most everyone who reads Let’s Run and posts.

He has American, Canadian, and Mexican ancestry. Given all three countries are part of what is known as the Americas then that would mean he is far more American than most Americans.

Oh, running fans, Fisher is also one of the young brightest stars in USA track and field. We should be begging he run for the USA. He might get pissed off with all of this banter and opt for working in Silicon Valley, make millions and possibly be your boss. Maybe he will run for political office and set policy that impacts you. Guaranteed he can do most anything he wants at a very high level and that ultimately is what bugs the few posters on here that lead miserable low achieving lives who want to slam a person that has a lot going for him.

If you read Let’s Run posts Grant, know that 99.99% of US running fans appreciate you, know you are American born and want you to run for the USA. Please run for the USA.

You haven’t really been reading some of the posts if you don’t see that some people don’t like him because he was born in canada. “definitely a roll model - he rolled right in across that big unprotected northern border, took advantage of tax paying Michiganders to get a high school education, and now is freeloading at Stanford taking a place that could have gone to a real American!”

It’s not the Fisher fans who don’t like Canada, it’s the Fisher haters who seem angry that he can compete for the US. It seems like some of the people are racist but don’t want to admit that they don’t like white immigrants.

Some of the responses on here are ridiculous. Just because folks point out the FACT that Fisher was born in Canada doesn’t mean they aren’t fans of his. These two things are not mutually exclusive. That was a great performance and he is great for the sport—and will be a great addition to the USA team if he makes it. But, it is a fact that he was born in Canada.

I do find it interesting that some choose to refer to American athletes as “foreign born” in certain circumstances (generally when the athlete is not white) and not in other circumstances (generally when the athlete is white).

The thread is giving me brain cancer, he runs 7:42 and all people do is talk about how he’s “Canadian”, he was BORN an American citizen, that’s completely different than an African from Kenya or some place GETTING not BORN an American citizen, stop being stupid

Many military children are born overseas while their parents were deployed to Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia, or Italy. None of those individuals classify themselves as anything other than American born and US citizen not born in in the USA. You are throwing in a term that my not be absolutely incorrect but is being used incorrectly. Fisher is American born and a US citizen even though he was born in Canada. You don't understand the English language. Canadian born means he is was born a Canadian. That does insinuate that he is not American. He is American born. You can say that he was born in Canada or Canada born, but don't call him Canadian born without at least correctly saying that he was dually American born and Canadian born while being born in Canada.

He is my favorite runner. He is American and American born. We love him.

Hi, I'm Grant, who ran a great 3k on Saturday in NYC.

I wish to announce that I will represent Canada in international competition, because there are so many mean Americans posting about my citizenship on LetsRun. I'll show THEM! Move over, Justyn Knight!

Also, after the Big One, half of Stanford U will have shifted northward significantly and will be claimed by Canada. The major fault line running through Stanford U will be renamed the Grant Fissure (half American, half Canadian).
