Liam Neeson is getting blasted for admitting to hardcore racism 40 years ago. Should his career be over, or should be commended for being honest enough to admit his mistakes?
I don't understand it really. If he had the same thoughts today, no problem, but he's admitting to something 40 years ago, when society was very racist, in the real meaning of the term. Surely it's better to remind the current snowflake generation AND the new 'alt-righters' that racism once was very real, and not simply an offensive tweet.

Liam Neeson - Is his career over?

Career over. And rightly so.
-
This stuff is getting out of hand.

I guess they're trying to get some real power behind that word. Perhaps one day soon, you will be able to point someone you don't like out to the police and they'll take them away to the "re-training" centers? Kind of like what happened in Cambodia?
-
Well, it appears that a friend of Liam's was raped by a black man and he wanted to go out and kill any black man. Well, imagine, back in the Old West, a white man had raped a native America woman and a friend of hers wanted to go out and kill a white man, any white man...would his movie career be over? ( if you get my drift )

Well Liam didn't actually physically harm anyone did he? Neither did he yell out threatening racial slurs at anyone. Was there a crime committed besides a thought crime? -
He should be behind bars.
-
There's a career waiting for him on YouTube.
-
No, his career is not over. Not worth the press it is getting.

Roseanne didn't commit a "crime" either. How's her career doing? -

For what, exactly? Thought crimes?

Curious how you build a bridge from this situation to the made up one that you posted, given that they aren't remotely alike. -
This call-out culture is annoying when it gets this far off base.
Now we're going after people for admitting that they made a mistake in their thinking decades ago.
What's next? Someone being charged with misogyny and having their life ruined because they used the word "b*tch" one time in their youth...but that means they used a term specific to a female to convey a pejorative meaning...which means they view females and being something pejorative...which means they have fully absorbed the patriarchal teachings of past cultures and are perpetuating harmful misogyny that harms females, transpeople, gays, lesbians, and any other member of a minority group...which means they are a Nazi and deserve the indignation of everyone who cares about justice.
Give me a break. -
It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. He disclosed the information himself rather someone looking at an old yearbook. He told the story and said he regretted feeling the way he did. And It was 40 years ago.

I wonder what Key and Peele think?

I wouldn't normally weigh in on a thread of this nature, but my family are descended from the Neeson clan, so I will.
Yeah, this is ridiculous. He admitted to something decades ago to make clear how wrong his thinking was...decades ago.
There's even talk of him being 'edited out' of the forthcoming Men in Black film. I mean for God's sake, do SJWs even recognize how we're creeping closer and closer to a Stalin type society? -

They don't see it because (1) they identify their politics and morals as being 100% correct, unlike (in their mind) the politics and morals of Stalin and (2) they shut down any criticism and/or critique in the name of being tolerant, which is the exact opposite of tolerance and mimicks Stalin.
They are idiots. -
What I don't get is why Sam and his buddies didn't help him.
Was it the second one where they were literally playing golf while he was fighting for his life?
