Has anyone tried the Reebok Forever Floatride Energy yet? It looks like it could be a solid daily trainer to pair with the Run Fast. The weight is pretty light and it sounds like it has a full TPU midsole of some sort.

Pebax.
Yep, it's a pebax foam. They also have a bit of it with a layer of EVA in that trainer with the weird cup/knit/cage combo.
This one is a new shoe with a different midsole foam. The name is confusing. The Women's version is up on their website in the US, but the Men's version isn't yet.
Hi,
Has anyone tried this model yet? Thoughts??.
Cheers
Steve
See the thread about Asics. One of the reasons why no one is running in Reebok shoes is that it's really hard to find them. Local running stores don't carry them. Even their brand stores in NYC don't really have much in the way of running shoes.
Very few people who are not already used to the brand (and they've not been relevant in running for so long that it's hard to imagine these people exist) are going to drop $100+ for a pair of shoes where they don't know the sizing, nor the fit and no one they know wears them.
Take a chance, buy them from Running Warehouse or Reebok (if you can find them on their website). It's your money. Let us know what you think.
So I ended up ordering these. They are only $100. Reebok has another winner on their hands. The Floatride Run Fast is probably the best fast-day trainer out there. The Forever Floatride Energy is a TPU daily trainer with an all TPU midsole that is shaped more into a normal midsole. It is more packed together than Boost and probably closer to Everun, but more packed together than that I think. It has the cushioning of the Ultraboost, but more packed together in the midsole like the Freedom at the weight of like the Boston. The ride is springy and more controlled/stable than an Adidas without any additions to the midsole. It has plenty of rubber and the upper is a nice basic mesh. This is, for me, the best TPU daily trainer for me. It has the perfect amount of cushioning at a lighter weight. And it is only $100. The way that the midsole is created also just seems better than the other TPU shoes. For me, this is like the TPU Epic React. It is an ounce heavier, but $50 cheaper, more cold resistant, has more rubber, and has a simple non-knit upper.
Hi,
Great feedback.
Some questions:
Is the upper breathable (beacons to hot in summer) and spacious - for toe splay not too tight mid-foot like the epic react. I hope its not firm like the freedom and they have more cushion . I found the freedom to firm and not enough cushion for long runs. Is the mid-sole on the softer side like epic react, but firmer than boost. Or is it firm like everrun. I found the saucony triumph iso 3 good medium soft shoe but iso 4 and 5 to firm.
Also are these good for daily trainer and tempo runs and are they a fast shoe, currently using the New balance beacon, epic react and skechers gorun ride 7. Do they have good cushion levels for long distances like the triumphs. glycerins, Thanks.
Cheers Steve
25$ bucks off today at Reebok for these. A steal at 75$
actually $30 off using VIP30
what's the weight on these
the funny thing is that adidas owns reebok so they win regardless if you buy bostons or floatride
ah okay it's 9.3 oz (M), 7.7 oz (W)
half to an an ounce heavier than bostons
so this is likely using adidas bounce foam (not boost) adidas is starting to loan reebok it's tech
now the question is when does adidas take pebax from reebok and launch a new series, probably by summer?
Eff Reebok and Adidas for not offering any of their real shoes in a size 14. Eff them in the peepee hole.
are they too soft a la "Supernova, Solar Glide?"
i actually just bought Pegasus 34 on the clearance but was looking at Reebok from the roadtrailrun.com website. I was reluctant because of the experience I had with Solar Glide being way too soft laterally.
As a supinator I really appreciate how Nike uses that firm piece of lateral rubber basically I can get done with a 12 miler in Solar Glide and have to do a rolling session just to have a normal gait the next day, with Pegasus even Winflo 5(most underrated) I can feel that rail keeping the hips/knees in check. The launches have also felt firm enough without feeling like the jacked heel in Ghost...
Also I own a pair of Adidas X trainers with "Bounce" and there's no way that's got any tpu or pebax. It feels just like a form of EVA think Brooks Launch or NB Revlite
No, this shoe is definitely a TPU. It is not EVA. For weight, I saw 8.7 oz on RTR. The midsole is firmer than boost, but the shoe feels more protected than the Freedom Iso. For me, it is plenty of cusioning for easy/long/daily runs. I have been using the Epic Reacts for that until now. It may be a faster shoe for a heavier runner though, as I am only 5 foot 7 and 120lbs.
It isn’t Pebax, like in the Floatride/Fast/Pro?
No. It's TPU like Boost, Everrun, etc. Add it to your "List of TPUish midsoles whatcha got" thread...
The Forever Floatride Energy name is confusing. It isn't the actual Pebax Floatride, but it is a TPU. That said, pair the Forever Floatride Energy with the Floatride Run Fast for a killer 1-2 training combo. Both shoes are excellent.

I feel bad you don't get to use some of the better shoes but I imagine they don't sell enough size 14 to justify making a mold, etc.
This would never be a good idea for a racing shoe but for recovery/easy have you ever tried buying a size 12 (or 13 do they make 13?) and cutting open the top of the toebox a little?
Back when they discontinued the Zante v1 and I thought they were never coming back, I found like size 7 still left on JoesNewBalance on deep clearance for like $20 after discount code and buying bulk so I bought a bunch despite that being too small for me (crunches my toes, I need 8 in NB)
Turns out all I had to do was cut open the toebox a little and it's the perfect recovery shoe and I think it teaches me to run better because I then land properly midfoot and its VERY airy for hot summers.
(plus I then got a bunch of new balance insoles which are maybe the best insoles, still using them and have more left)
