Why should someone who can run a 57 last lap in a overall not so slow 1500m (as Houlihan did last summer, I think) not be able to run a 57-62 800m. Klosterhalfen has not much of a kick and never finished any race with an under 60 lap but she ran such an 800m in 2017. Houlihan is clearly faster and has a much better kick, so she should be able to do a sub2 800 with her normal 1500m training.
Looking at how fast a 5000m runner kicks last 400m then assuming greatness at 800m is ridiculous. If John Walker did not race 800m at 1976 Olympics, you guys would have started a couple dozen threads stating Walker would have beaten Juantorena in 800m based on Walker's final 300m during 1500m final at '76 Olympics.
Why don't you guys start threads saying Miruts Yifter would have beaten Ovett & Coe in 800m based on Yifter's final 300m in 5000m final, 1980 Olympics? Why don't you guys start threads stating Fermin Cacho would have won 1992 Olympics 800m based on Cacho's final 300m, 1992 Olympics, 1500m F? Why don't you guys start threads stating Centrowitz would have beaten David Rudisha in 800m based on Centrowitz' final 300m, 2016 Olympics 1500m?
The Walker, Yifter, Cacho and Centrowitz examples sound ridiculous. Your Houlihan as a secret elite 800m runner is also ridiculous.
