Wow. That was the most annoying video I've seen in a while.

The fallacy there is that it was pretty obvious Hasay could have run sub 15 and 30:30 just based on her 1:07:55 half. Her 2:20:57 was a better effort than that.
Her 67:55 half marathon was a 5:11 pace.
What's your point? McMillan calculator shows 1440, 3027, and 222 high based on 10755 half.

I don't think Kipchoge running 23 miles at 5:23 pace sounds impossible, either, but it sounds faster than an "easy" run even if it's well within abilities.
You're still wrong. 5:23 pace is easy for Kipchoge.
Not "hard but possible." Easy.
oh is that what he told you? or did you just read his mind?
ok ok
he does 18k in an hour. which is 5:20 something pace. but it says he starts at 6min per K, which is 9:30 pace?

I'm confused. Shouldn't doing 23 miles (less than 26.2) in 44 seconds over your race pace be easy for everyone? I mean ask anyone who has run a marathon and trained for it if they are okay with the idea of running 44 seconds slower than race pace and for a few miles shorter than race distance. I'm pretty sure everyone will be okay with that workout. You still have to put the work in, but nobody is going to act like it's an impossible workout.

Exactly.
People like Shoebacca and "it's easy, sorry" need to learn what a straw-man argument is and stop it.
Nobody is saying it is an "impossible workout." People are simply saying it is not an "easy run" either.
There is a lot between those two extremes. Anyone who has actually trained for a quality marathon would know this.

She is one of the last people I would assume is clean.
Of course she has a borderline malpractice prescription for thyroid boosting, has a TUE for HGH and takes a mystery "testosterone medication" like Rupp did, aka the "NOP cocktail."
clearly not "easy" wrote:

Sorry but it's easy. That's not a "straw man" argument, it's a fact. 5:23 pace for Kipchoge is easy. 5:30 pace for Malmo was easy - search the boards, he said it many times. Sub-5:30 pace for Rupp is easy, look up the videos. 6:07 pace for Jordan Hasay is easy. MP+44 seconds for me and many other commenters here is easy. These paces are not "hard but possible," they're EASY.

Correct, so he averages approximately 5:22. He starts very slow which means he's running more like 5:00-5:15 pace for the later miles.
That's not "hard but possible," that's his easy "rest day."
if Marathon pace + 44s is easy then a lot of you must suck at racing. Probably because you push your easy runs too hard
