The US is the largest producer of oil and natural gas - yet the US still imports oil from other countries. Explain this.
. . .
Ummm . . . the US consumes more oil than it produces.
Gee, that was a really tricky one, right? WTF?
The US exports more oil than it imports.

Doesn’t look like they’re making much electricity today, but it sure is going to make for good union jobs clearing the snow off these things.
https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=727In 2017, the United States imported approximately 10.14 million barrels per day (MMb/d) of petroleum from about 84 countries. Petroleum includes crude oil, hydrocarbon gas liquids, refined petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel fuel, and biofuels including ethanol and biodiesel. Crude oil accounted for about 79% of U.S. gross petroleum imports in 2017 and non-crude oil petroleum accounted for about 21% of gross petroleum imports.
In 2017, the United States exported about 6.38 MMb/d of petroleum to 186 countries, of which about 18% was crude oil and 82% was non-crude oil petroleum. The resulting net imports (imports minus exports) of petroleum were about 3.77 MMb/d.
You fool, you absolute buffoon. You are just playing into THEIR hands. The word “global” implies that the Earth is “round”. You can’t let the round-Earthers win!
In response to your post, the cold temps are caused by the ice troll that lives on the other side of the FLAT earth.
If we want this Earth to last forever, we have MUCH work to do. Its obvious to the educated that the rich globalists are destroying the world!!
Hawaii battered by 191mph gusts, 40ft waves in rare winter snow storm
The island state of Hawaii has been battered by an "unprecedented" weather event which has brought 191-mph gusts, snow storms, waves as high as 40 feet (12.19 meters), widespread power outages, and at least one fatality. The low pressure system began hammering the islands on Friday, with damaging winds combining with already choppy seas to create massive waves and, in turn, coastal flooding.
Snow in Hawaii must be another proof of Global Warming.
Don’t feed the polar bears, otherwise they will be voting democrat for 200 years.
All these unusual weather events make me wonder.
As I live in a normally moderate climate, along the California central coast, I don't even have my furnace connected.
My windows are single pane. I bundle up when it's cold, but have no winter clothes.
If there was a cold snap here, 60 below zero, and maybe even just a ways below freezing ...
I'd probably be dead, along with most of the population that lives around here.
The all time low here was 25 degrees. I don't recall the last time the temp went below freezing.
Most of the time the night time winter temps don't go below 40, which means usually above 60 in the house.
What are the chances of a polar vortex causing ultra low temperatures here????
Maybe no one knows, but I think it could happen and the possibility has me concerned.

I'd give you recommendations, but we're straining under the weight of an additional 1 inch of snowfall. It's really piling up out there! And our temperatures are plunging into the low-30s. Windchills are mid-20s. I'm not sure we can survive this epic cold!

I think you mean low 30s, and mid 20s, without the minuses.
Still, that is cold. I used to live in Seattle, and don't miss it at all. I did have heat then though.
My plan is to keep my eyes open for a well insulated jacket, pants, and similar clothes.
I'm going to split a big stack of wood this summer, to be prepared for the wood burning stove next winter.
I'd like to build a solar air heater, but prefer to not drill through the house, so that idea is not feasible.
Double pane windows are not worth the cost, compared to just turning the furnace back on, which I'm planning to do.
Inside storm windows are an option, as an alternative to double paned.
Bump for another reminder of how dumb and illogical Polly/Sally/Fatty is.
It's all about the water vapor, man. Gimme that, and the weather be ragin'.
A persistent anomalous cold will continue across the plains over the next week. This cold comes after a record cold February across this region, extending into the Canadian prairies. Heating demand will continue to run much above normal for Early March in this portion of the country with additional heating demand potential across the entire northern tier of the United States. In addition to the cold, yet another winter storm is forecast to impact the Northeast I-95 corridor Sunday into Monday with moderate to heavy snowfall expected,
The planet has a fever.
Al. How can we ensure that planet Earth lasts forever? Is AOC the answer?
