Trump (SOTU) did mention the energy boom. That's way more significant IMO.

Don't you communist sons of a bitches remember millions of years ago when large sections of what we now know as VA, NC, SC, GA, and AL were underwater? At that same time, ALL of Florida as we know it was covered by ocean.

No we don't, can you remind us how it happened and how long the change took?

“We have unleashed a revolution in American Energy – the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas in the world. And now, for the first time in 65 years, we are a net exporter of energy.”
Republicans stood up and cheered the news, while Democrats (other than Joe Manchin D-WV) stayed in their seats.
https://twitter.com/SenJeffMerkley/status/1092971899133411328This means we don't have to manipulate minority countries to steal their oil?

Isn't RUSSIA #2 in the world now (Saudis dropping so much)?
We CANT let Orange drumpf COLLUDE with them!!
Well it was about 3 million years ago, at least, and the globe was warm. We're not really sure how long it took for the sea level to rise, in fact, it may have never "risen" in the first place and could actually have been falling from a high start point all this time.
Obviously we are entering another ice-age. Once the polar ice-caps stop melting.
House holds first climate change hearings in 6 years (Natural Resources Committee).
... He wondered why the committee held a hearing on an issue outside its jurisdiction.
“Are these hearings simply for those of us around the horseshoe who are going to make legislation, or are these hearings designed for that group sitting at a table in the corner so they can write cute stories?” Bishop asked, pointing to where reporters sat in the hearing room.
“It would have been a bit easier, if not at least more transparent, if the majority would have continued the long tradition of publishing a hearing memo, per Rule 4(c) of our Committee’s Rules — so that not just the Republicans — but also the public, could understand the purpose of the hearing,” Bishop, the committee’s ranking member, said in prepared comments.
“That being said, I want to preemptively thank [committee chairman Raul Grijalva] for what I hope is going to be a hearing focused on solutions and not just empty rhetoric and fear mongering,” Bishop said.
The committee chairman, Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona, responded that global warming “significance and consequences over all our jurisdictions.”
“Climate change is a civil rights issue,” Reverend Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, next told lawmakers, referring to tackling global warming as the “lunch counter moment for the 21st century.” Yearwood also warned the U.S. does “not make it beyond 12 years from now without huge amounts of death, destruction, and suffering” unless Congress addressed global warming.
Climate activist Elizabeth Yeampierre, executive director of UPROSE, warned the Trump administration’s rolling back of Obama-era regulations is “very dangerous” and could bring about a “Day After Tomorrow” scenario, referencing the 2004 disaster film.
New Mexico Democratic Rep. Debra Haaland broke into tears when speaking to one of hearing witnesses — a 16-year-old environmental activists. Haaland said, “I just want to recognize your presence here.” Nadia Nazar, the 16-year-old founder of the Zero Hour Movement, said the Trump administration’s inaction on “climate change is violating my right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” according to her prepared remarks.
For the denier side, they had two scientists testify.
Meanwhile, the Committee on Energy and Commerce held a separate global warming session.
Chairman Frank Pallone of New Jersey opened the hearing and said, “We must act now to avoid the most catastrophic consequences” of warming.
Reverend Leo Woodberry of the Kingdom Living Temple Church warned, “We have less than 12 years to get on a serious path” to cut greenhouse gas emissions or else “there will be little that we can do in the foreseeable future.” Woodberry championed “environmental justice” in his testimony — the concept that poor, minority communities are harder hit by environmental problems and global warming. Democrats on the committee seemed to embrace that message.
“When I think of climate change, I don’t think in terms of green. I think in terms of black and brown,” California Democratic Rep. Nanette Barragan said during the Energy and Commerce hearing.
Climate theater continues, and both parties seem to like it that way,
Back in 1989, we only had 10 years to act.
Glad we have 12 now.
Look at the Fake News WaPo reporter, not knowing how cold works.
Global warming is a myth. The climate is always in a change. Always been. Always will. Zero evidence that humans have anything to do with it. None at all. Most climate change alarmists are Commie Socialist who want to control our lives.

Are you sure always? Polar Bears and Grizzly Bears are now mating due to melting of North Pole. Friends of Putin have reasons to say there is no such thing as Global Warming. Putin wants Arctic Ocean to be a liquid ocean. Those who own significant equity shares in oil & gas corporations spread the word there is no such thing as Global Warming, Either you are a tool of Putin or a tool of oil & gas industry.

The US is the largest producer of oil and natural gas - yet the US still imports oil from other countries. Explain this.
Today's climate (and weather) are influenced in a major way by an increase in water vapor in the atmosphere - which is sparked by warming. This vapor creates instability which in itself causes ripples in wind patterns, leading to things such as hurricanes, droughts, tornadoes, snowstorms, ice storms, cold snaps, and torrential rains. Yes, basically everything 'extreme' in today's climate and and weather is attributed to warming, no matter how cold you might be in the northeast, or no matter how many snowballs an (R) takes onto the Senate floor. Every single year now is hotter than the one previous. No matter what your beliefs are on this matter, is mitigation a good idea, or is just "letting it ride" a better option?

. . .
Ummm . . . the US consumes more oil than it produces.
Gee, that was a really tricky one, right? WTF?
