Received an email from T&FN that with the Jan., 2019 edition, they will start the print version of the magazine again. Seems many did not buy-in to the $79 digital-only version. So the question is, how many people that were previous subscribers will re-start their subscription? I had really enjoyed the magazine for many, many years but was able to move on with my life when I decided not to get the digital only version.
I still haven't decided whether I will jump back in although Runner's World just doesnt do it for me.

I felt the same way. Let my subscription run out.
The magazine, though late, represented a nice handy record of the sport one could read & refer back to.
As I understand it, one has to print it out on your own printer !!
I've moved on .... -
Track and Field News is a dinosaur. All things come to an end. Let it rot.

Took it for decades. No longer interested

Damn.
That's a little harsh, Malmo. -

The new offer is a printed magazine

As you may know, Track & Field News discontinued its ink & paper version with the January 2018 edition. We did offer an option for subscribers to print out a PDF version of each issue at home, but that methodology hasn't met with widespread acceptance. Fortunately, technological advancements since then have made it feasible for us to once again offer a monthly print product. It won't look quite the same as the old print magazine, and some material that will be found in the digital version will be condensed, but all the essential data will still be there. The first issue of the new print version (January 2019) will be mailed to subscribers in early February. -

lol... you funny. -
Most athletes still have T&F News end of year ranking tied in to their contracts (yes, even non US athletes).
It will be interesting to see what replaces that if T&FN does come to an end. -

Though it is nice to have a printed archive of results, the expiration date on 30 day old news has passed by. -
Had a print subscription to Running Times, but didn't renew when they morphed into runner's world. Running Times had some good stuff for more serious runners, X Country, NCAA track, etc. Runner's world is full of hobby jogger special interest stories (much like US media's coverage of major marathons, and running gear and shoe ads. Clearly designed for the low level Hobby jogger weekend warrior.

Yup. I'll buy it. I did let the subscription lapse when TnF News went digital. Loved the hard copy for MANY years. It was the perfect bathroom / "waiting for my wife to get ready" read.
As a hs coach, I posted the centerfolds of world class athletes on the team bulletins boards to show my athletes who some of our sport's heroes are. (Every fb or bb player could tell you who their favorite pro is. How many hs pole vaulters or TJer's know who Mondo Duplantis or Christian Taylor are?)
Something about holding a magazine in my hand is more enjoyable than holding a cell phone, tablet, or laptop, even if the stats are dated.
Yes, I'm an old guy. -
Pointless. Print is dead, don't know why they think anything has changed since they discontinued the print edition. Basically, their content is a shrinking niche, they can't find advertisers. Unless and until they radically alter their format, they'll circle the drain.

I was a subscriber since the late 60s, back then you would have to go over the newspaper sports page with a fine tooth comb searching for Running related race results. So T&FN was devoured the minute it hit your mailbox, you would look through the results and read all the articles.
Now the magazine is obsolete as we get race results instantly on the Internet and so the only part of the Magazine that remains partially interesting in todays environment are the photos. But photos of races can also be downloaded from the Internet as well.
As a result the Magazine has outlived its purpose. -
I’m getting it.

Yeah, that was the only source of results from the European meets when I was in HS in the '70s.
It was tough back then. To get the baseball scores I had to watch the 11:00 news and to see the Sunday NFL highlights I had to wait until the Howard Cosell narrated video shown during halftime on the Monday night game. -
I subscribed for decades, and still have all those issues in my basement, but a few years ago I switched to digital, found it not a very good experience, and let that lapse. Sadly, much as I used to love it, I don't care enough to go back to it.
There was a time I read every word, every result, and could do my own world rankings in all the events.
