Have 3 hours to kill at LAX, looks like it's near a trail that goes along the beach. Would want to get in an hour jog. Was thinking I could stash the luggage in one of those lockers. 3 hours seems like enough time but I've never done this before. Is there anywhere good to shower? Have 4 hours of flying afterwards.
Should I run during my 3hr layover at LAX airport?

It could be done, but it depends on the time of day and day of week you are there. Getting back through security might take a little while. Plus, you are a good 3.5 miles from the beach once you consider getting through the terminal, etc. State Beach is right there at the bottom of the hill. I don't recall any sidewalks on Westchester or the Imperial Highway. About the only way you can walk out the airport is onto Century Blvd, which takes you the wrong way, so you would have to get out and run North on a side street (not the best neighborhood in LA, mostly car rental lots, hotels, fast food and homeless).

Sounds risky, esp. with depleted TSA ranks. I usually end up doing drills/plyos, maybe some push ups or core at an empty gate area and/or a quiet hallway.

Hahahaha stop it. No you don't. -
Nope- because there are no storage lockers at LAX for your stuff. I asked. I'm stuck in that hole 10 hours when I'm there coming and going and it sucks. I had to go through again 3 weeks ago coming in from Moscow heading up to Anchorage. It's even worse now because it's apparently turned into a homeless shelter. The bums have taken over the waiting areas. It's disgusting. The cops don't boot them either which is ridiculous. Who knows what diseases and or head lice they are carrying. I saw one nut harass a passenger who was waiting for check in to open and the dumb cops did NOTHING! She went to hide in the bathroom to get away. I moved to the opposite end of the terminal . There were more of them at the international side but too many of them in domestic too.

Hey "Baltic Babe" you sound like a real a*shole. Do you even know anyone who is homeless or mentally ill or does your Moscow to LA jet-setting life prevent that? Perhaps the situation with the homeless and the mentally ill in LA needs to be better addressed, but watch your tone and have some compassion for your fellow human beings, you punk. I guarantee you're not as cool as you think you are. You sound like a prick. -

Are you serious? I live in LA so obviously fly out of LAX all the time and have never seen a homeless person in any waiting area. Believe me, I see plenty of homeless people in different places around LA, but LAX is not one of them. -

+1.
This guy sounds like a pretentious jerk. -

That's really cool that you fly into LAX...and from Moscow no less!! You sound amazing,. However, what does your post have to do with the topic? -

Baltic Babe is an obvious troll and there are no homeless people in the "waiting area" at LAX because they would need to clear security with a valid boarding pass. -
No not a troll -get your facts straight. There were many bums in the waiting area by check in sitting in the chairs. Some were on the floor. When you have a 10 hr layover and have to go between airlines, you are stuck in this waiting area until check in for your next flight opens. This is before security. This is where the garbage has gathered. It was not an issue when I came through in the summer. It was awful December -January. I asked a woman at the counter why the police do nothing and the bums are allowed in. SHe said it has become a problem over the past year and they are afraid of being called out for discrimination if they boot them. I call BS. This is a public health and safety issue! The terminal is not a bloody homeless shelter!

On a 10 hr layover it would be nice to get out maybe even run, but as I mentoned above, there are no storage lockers at LAX as there are at many other airports abroad.

There looks to be a track just south of the airport. Unconventional shape but it will do the trick. Doesn't seem all that busy, either.

When I have a 2-4 hour layover, I will walk the terminal twice...depending on how big it is, that's a few miles of walking, complete with luggage in tow.
Then I'll partake in a local beer...I've had some good ones in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, to mention some...
Not all airports have shower facilities. Dealing with security and customs when returning from "outside" could add time to returning to your gate. -
Virtue signaling narcissists are the reason California is becoming worse than Tijuana.
Mexico wouldn't put up with sociopathic homeless predators destroying a civilization.
But California virtue signaling narcissists would scream "Discrimination!!!" If a homeless guy was prevented from jacking off with a knife held to some old lady's throat. -
A lot of those people you refer to probably served their country. Have a bit of respect. There may be garbage in that terminal at your time of flying, but I suspect you're looking in the wrong direction.
Surprised they don't have storage lockers. Check your bags in. Use trunky for your hand luggage. Cross train by scooting around the airport.
Rent a car. Put luggage in boot. Run around car park. -
Carry your stuff and walk briskly outside on that semi-circle, alternating levels. It's some exercise at least. Or if you're through security, walk between terminals. But be careful, twice I was walking and somehow accidentally exited and had to go back through security.
Don't know what the person talking about bums is referring to. LAX is a dump. Except for the international terminal, which is nice. I'm usually flying to "third-world" countries, and their airports are usually a lot nicer than the domestic parts of LAX. But I've never seen homeless people hanging around at LAX. I'm not even sure of what "waiting area" they're referring to. -
Don’t exercise or wash yourself or clothes before your trip. Prior to depature buy a meatball sandwich, or anything smelly. French fries are good too. Get on the plane and disgust everyone.

This is just what happens when you legalize recreational weed. Sounds like dirty mike and the boys have moved to LAX. Be sure to lock up your Prius.
