I'm a janitor at a university in a high-traffic building, so if I'm not doing my job it becomes quite evident.
I work an 8.5-hour shift, and lord knows I don't have 8.5 hours of things to do. Not even close. If I want to take an unscheduled break, and take a load off my feet, it's done in a storage room/closet out of camera view. When you're a janitor, a lot of your time is spent hiding out.
Ha, ha that reminds me of when I was working as a student for a parking garage company.
Part of my job was to clean stairs in one of them. Two hours of work max but 6 hours to fill.
One of my coworkers has lasted 20 years doing nothing. She just gets moved around. I started doing the bare minimum about a year or so ago because it just doesn't matter.
Well, it depends on the job. Also, as far as I know, during COVID, your employer just could not fire you by law. I’m not sure it’s still like this, but who knows.
However, I would not risk vividly doing that. On the other hand, I know that many people who work in offices are not doing much work every day because they are just paid per hour and not for the job they do. Some government jobs also do not require you to be super active, especially if you know how to look like you are working hard and let your boss know that you are always very busy. And while you are doing nothing at work, you can learn how to make an extra 1000 a month and make even more money than you do now. It’s like a jackpot.
About an hour maybe.
10 minutes. I actually have a job where people see my impact. If i dont get in the game....people will let me know
