Wow. Chepngetich messes up another drink stop
That was terrible.
1:08.10 for the Women
14 men (including 3 pacers) come through halfway in 61:43. That's crazy.
Women's lead pack is smaller, but comparatively, they're even faster: 68:10. It's Ruth Chepngetich (2:18 in Istanbul last year), Worknesh Degefa (2017 Dubai champ, and Worknesh Edesa (2:24 pb from 2016).
They finally got good weather for this race. Too bad Kipchoge put the WR out of reach or else they would be chasing it right now.

Weather is a little cooler than usual for Dubai, 65 degrees at the start. But the humidity is 86% right now.
Dewpoint is 61 right now which is really way too high.
Anyoen know what the dewpoint was last year?
From another thread:
Dewpoint
Butcher continues to extol the excellent race weather conditions

Nope, they won't break 2:04.
Ruth Chepngetich making a real mess of the drink stations. She came to a complete stop and picked one that wasn’t even hers in the first place.
How is it year after year Nike and Adidas have the same colored singlets?!
Anyone know what Adidas shoes the elites got on?
You heard it here first. wrote:

Most likely not, but if not, not due to the weather. Markedly better weather than last year which had 7 men under 2:05
Adola done.
5 red leading 4 black
Men's 25k - 73:10 - That’s 2:03:30 pace - - 14:41, 14:30, 14:36, 14:44 , 14:39.
adola is gone at 1:20 mark.
Women's 25k -80:50 (2:16:25 pace) 16:16, 16:17, 16:07, 16:05, 16:15
Down to last pacemaker for the men. Adola way off the back now. Do you hang in for 10th place and a v small payout? Still sick, injured,...?? Chepngetich still struggling with drink stations.
I missed the first 26k of the men's race, anyone wants to give me a cliff notes version of what has happened so far?
Adola dropping. Puts that freak Berlin debut in perspective.
Men's lead group thinning out fast!!
