Lance Armstrong talks to Ryan Hall

Interesting speculation, I would take the over on that every time. No chance he could get fit in time to go under 2:20 let alone 2:15. However a Spring 2020 marathon might be a tossup but even then I would take the over.

The reason we type blood is to avoid giving someone the wrong type of blood (seems pretty obvious right?) . Giving someone ABO incompatible blood results in an Acute Transfusion Reaction that results in hypotension, kidney failure, other organ system failure, and death if not acted upon immediately. We get these transfusion reactions because we have naturally occurring, non-antigen stimulated antibodies (meaning we do not need previous exposure to a wrong blood type) from basically birth. These antibodies recognize non-compatible red cells and result in immediate lysis in the bloodstream. This immediately lysis of the red cells in the bloodstreams releases toxic compounds that result in the organ failure and potentially death. This is overly simplistic as there are other antigens on red blood cells that can cause a slow/delayed transfusion reaction to someone with unexpected antibodies to these lesser known antigens (these require previous exposure, are usually non-life threatening/non-lethal, result in a slower degradation of red cells, and don't usually result in organ damage).

I hope lance comes down with a rare form of cancer that is automatically transmitted to those willing to interface with him.

Ideally he could transmit it to all the stupid people first before being dispatched himself.

One other thing, why was this dead lift video necessary, its embarrassing, we should be shaming people for doing stuff like this.

Sure sounds good to me. If it meant fulfilling this fantasy and ridding the world of lance and his sympathizers, I would gladly, enthusiastically, and probably with an excess of zeal take on cancer and lay down my life, after all I'm just a lowly peon, it's not like I'm going to enrich people's lives by being really fast on my bicycle, I likely won't be missed.

I think Ryan Hall is a genuinely good person. He adopted several girls from Ethiopia...major respect for that.

Unfortunately he has found himself in a predicament many athletes encounter after their sports careers are over. No real skill set, hasn’t used knowledge acquired from college degree in a long time.

To make money, he is forced to endorse muscle milk incessantly, post videos of him lifting weights that people do every day in the gym, associate w sleazy types, etc. it’s almost as if he can’t cope w getting a regular job and developing a real career. With the sort of drive he had as an athlete you would think he could successful in some other career, ala Webb’s truck repair business.

Or maybe he could lead his life exactly the way he and his wife want to, without concern for the opinions of nobodies who have this forum for spreading their mostly worthless views. The LetsRun turds will continue to be deposited, no matter what Ryan's public persona is. Good for him for doing his own thing.

Anyone can do their own thing, and I doubt he cares what others think. However if they place themselves squarely in the public eye with a big-time narcissistic doper, it will certainly raise eyebrows and invite criticism.

Maybe he enjoys having lots of free time, setting his own schedule, lifting weights, making videos, doing podcasts, writing, coaching, etc.

This is opposed to a regular job where you work too many hours on a set schedule, and have little time for yourself or your family,

You might like forcing yourself to do Ryan's type of work too if it was paying the bills and you could get it...

You don't understand deadlifting. If you're really trying, you scrape your shins. A barbell can do a lot of damage. Sweatpants can prevent that.

If he can make a living lifting and basically not working then why the hell not? He’s got a degree from Stanford. If he wants to get a grinder job somewhere I’m sure he can, but why?

You people should go anc check all of the big time athletes and famous people Lance has had on his podcast. It might not make a difference to you but Hall is in some pretty good company.

Hey what do you think you’ll look like at 47, 57, 67 ..? Lance looks great in my opinion. The damage from hours in the sun are probably the biggest contributor to anything you think is over aging; I’d also say the stress of training/racing at the levels he has absorbed at the world class level will age anyone.
