Gotta give Kara a thumb-up for trying. I saw her finish at the 2016 Olympic Trials Marathon. Although she only got fourth, she looked strong and fought to the end. She's not the type that gives up easily. She would not have dropped out if she wasn't injured.
Although she never got a win in a big marathon, she will always be remembered as a great distance runner. I hope her the best in whatever taking her running in a new direction means.
if she's what you consider great, then Shalane, Amy and Jordan are outstanding!!!! Kara is not in their league, not even close.
FWIW - Kara accomplished more in her career than Jordan has, though Jordan still has the chance to turn the tables on that.
