You must be mistaken. It takes sub 1:04 to qualify for the olympic trials. 1:05:03 would not qualify.
DNF
63:28. sticking with what I predicted a couple weeks ago in some other Houston thread.
and by the way, mid 30s with 10 mph wind is not "no excuses" kind of weather. it's not BAD but 5-10 mph is worth mentioning and will have some impact on performance.
anybody guessing under 63:00 has had too much of the coconino cool aid. to break 63 he'd probably need to be aiming for at least 63:20 pace through 6 miles and then negative split. much more likely that he goes through 6mi on pace for 63:40-64:10 and if he had anything left after 10 miles, maybe he'd get down to 63:20 but probably no faster.
anybody guessing slower than 64:40s better know more than I do, because he should certainly be well under 65 even on a mediocre day. odds are good he is within 30sec of 64:00
I think he will OTQ. I just hope he runs his own race to accomplish his goal and doesn't get caught up in the bigger race. He's not used to running in 30th place. It was nice to read his comments in that article where he knows that the top of the field will destroy him. So it sounds like he is aware he needs to run his own race.
result was posted 64:00, not sure any else posted it
did he need to break 64 ? Or 64 flag is an OTQ?

30:20 first 10k
30:24 second 10k
a little faster pace for last K

+1
I believe something like this is worth a post on here AND a call in to the letsrun voicemail so we can maybe hear them play it on the next podcast!
and the winner is...

cheers.

I would never use the word profess. So these are not my words.
Probably the most annoying thing about Walmsley are his fanboys. Jim is not the problem. His fanboys are, how think he is the best runner on the planet. But he was 27th in Houston today. That's a fact. Another fact is also that fanboys don't like facts.
1:04:00!!
so is :00 an OTQ??

Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
