Video was directed by a sexual predator. Nice job Gillette.
Does this mean that Gillette has gone full feminist and will now stop making shavers for women’s legs and underarms? Bummer. I like the brand.
On the serious side, it’s not an anti-men PSA anymore than anti-bullying, anti-drug etc ones was were against teenagers when I was growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s.
If you’re a man feeling offended by this or you’re a woman thinking, “Yeah, stick it to those ba$tards,” the problem lies with you, not Gillette.
"...the problem lies with you, not Gillette."
No, I think Gillette has a problem now.

Not sure why you are getting you knickers twisted over this. Message is have a bit of respect for women and each other, not sure many would disagree. I have to say the boys play fighting at the bbq is too much though, that is just boys being boys.
Would you be happy if a similar advert with the same message targeted only black men? Given that all their complaints (such as violence and rape) are apparently much more of a problem in the black community according to the makeup of the prison population? You probably think I'm being racist just to ask you the question, yet you don't have any problem with demonizing one half of the planet? Why is it wrong to demonize men, but not wrong to demonize black men, or Arabic men etc? Isn't it equally prejudiced?
Exactly!!! Imagine an ad suggesting black and hispanic people stop shooting each other on the streets of Chicago. After all we all agree that shooting people is bad right? If anyone is offended by this message it's their problem that they support murder.
It's a bad thing to encourage men to be better versions of themselves why?
I am sorry, I’ll rephrase. Why are you getting you poop stained Y-fronts in a twist.
That is a silly little rant, not suggesting that all men are that way are they. I am a man and certainly no feminist but am often surprised by the amount of leering and shouting a pretty women, even mum with kid/s gets whilst walking down the average UK high street. Some men lack respect and that is the message. Not the best ad but not worth throwing your toys out of the pram for.
Boys will be boys. There is nothing wrong with that unless they are actually being bad boys.
There is nothing wrong with girls being boys and boys being girls either.
Some clown actually believe there is no natural difference and any apparent differences are from learned behavior or suppressed behavior.

Why not run that ad if that if that is the trend. PC bregrade won’t let it get out but that does not change reasonable people’s view on the issue.
I don't shave. Can I continue to be a perv?

Yes, just have to use Wilkinson Sword. They must be rubbing their hands.

"Better" is relative.
What I find more offensive is Gillette charging $4-5 per razor. Do yourself a favor and buy a safety razor. 100 blades for $8.
I would be outraged but I can't bring myself to click on the link to watch an advertisement. So I will just be outraged by what I think it is about instead.
Kind of disgusting considering that they own an NFL football team.
If they had targeted the ad toward NFL players it might have made more sense but alienating most of their customers by making them look like creeps isn't really a good idea in any kind of marketing sense.
The marketing moran who produced that ad should be fired.
I don't have a problem with the ad, but let me play devil's advocate any way.
I can see how many men are starting to feel a certain degree of mental and emotional fatigue from being painted as part of a group that is the cause of all of society's ills and how this ad can add to that fatigue. Further, while phrases like "toxic masculinity" used to be primarily bandied about at universities, in this era of widespread and immediate information dispersal, the use of these phrases by those who don't really understand or appreciate the nuances of the concept has exacerbated this fatigue.
And I think that is a reasonable position. The pendulum has swung very far. I am a middle aged, white, middle-to-upper middle class, professional man. It has reached the point where people look at me and make all sorts of assumptions about me, most of them fairly negative.
For those who are similarly situated, I would suggest this: do what generations of the working class have been told to do for decades upon decades and get over it and take care of yourself - essentially, put your big boy pants on, pull yourself up by your bootstraps, etc.
To those asking what would happen if ads were run that are perceived to be critical of women or minorities, please try to recognize that not all people have been or are similarly situated and thus not all behavior is equally appropriate across peer groups. Any of you who have more than one child will recognize that you don't treat all of your children in exactly the same way, but rather you deal with them based on their past behavior and individual personality traits. Similarly, the past experiences that minorities and women have generally had to deal with justifies different treatments for those cohorts than for my cohort.

To point out exactly what I pointed out. Why else do people comment?
