Six degrees of separation is probably even smaller in the professional running world.
Be careful who you offend as it will hurt your attempts to garner sponsorships, and enter races. Everyone knows or in many cases worked with someone else.
Example. Employee A works for Adidas but came from Brooks. Employee B also works at Adidas but came from Nike. Employee C works for Under Armour but came from Nike. Employee D is now at New Balance but came from Brooks.
All of the above are still friends and are in constant communication. If you pissed off one of them, they all know about it. Even if you think you were right, you are quickly labeled.
If you wonder why certain people can not get a contract while lesser quality people can. This is a major factor.
Elites be careful how you treat Coaches

That would be a disaster. Thankfully I'm to slow to get any sponsorship offers.

So you're saying there's a chance?
Also - no apostrophe in the word "pros", moran. -
Coaches: be careful how you treat elites. It goes both ways.
How about everyone just be kind to each other? Can we just utilize that premise? -
It is also important to remember that a Coach can destroy an athletes earning potential. I had a shoe company tell me that “you may be 100% correct but we’ve worked with this coach for 15 years and it is more important to keep him happy”.
I never received another contract. -

So if Nick Saban treated a player poorly you believe that he would be treated the same as if a player treated Nick Saban poorly?
Haha haha -

College football and professional track and field are nothing close to the same.
There is a specific coach that was not hired for a group secondary to a bad experience a current member of the group had with this coach. I wish I could be more specific to legitimize the statement, but I don't think it'd be a good idea. It's fairly well known amongst the elite/sub-elite crowd. -
Hey moron, are you being ironic?

First time on the boards? -
That is how it works in the real world. Second, coach and athlete could not make it work the first time. You think it is going to be different now? Finally, why even bother with your post? Neither the athlete or coach has posted it here. These things work out better for everyone if you keep it off the message board.

OP - I'm sure this is good advice, but you clearly have a bee in your bonnet over something that has transpired. Would you care to elaborate?

Hi, welcome to Let's Run.
Please list your 5k PR, height, weight and weekly mileage prior to making any more posts.

False. All that matters in the pro world is performance. Run fast and everything will be great. Run slow, no one really cares how nice you are.

The OP is Cas Loxsom

Also, everyone is pointing out that you missed a time-honored letsrun meme. You could try to to play it off, or own it.
