ELIUD KIPCHOGE TO RUN LONDON MARATHON 2019
First big announcement for London this week
Pretty cool. I hope they do a better job of pacing this year. He could run low to mid 2:02 on this course with more even splits (even his 2:03:05 CR was not well paced).

Ya think? Wow, really putting it out there, eh?

I guess Kipchoge is so good that even a 2:02 wouldn't impress people anymore.
Superb!
Mo Farah GOAT Vs Kipschoge, let's see what happens...
Is this even a contest? I am pretty sure Kipchoge will win easily. What will be his time is of more interest. In the 2:04s again or will he try to break his world record? It would be nice to see a world record in some other places than Berlin. Why is it only the men's that have marathon world records in Berlin but the women doesn't? Or maybe he will try to break 2 hours at London! I was hoping he would try to run Boston though. Maybe when I qualify for Boston he will run it there!

At some point, Kipchoge will lose again, because the GOAT's are so motivated that they never know when to hang them up until they are knocked off the podium.
Love Kipchoge saying Mo's time in Chicago wasn't that fast. Kipchoge seems like such a nice/genuine guy and he's run so fast that this doesn't even count as trash talk. Trying to actually compliment Farah for running a good psychological race.
This race will be fun but nobody can run with Kipchoge on a time trial course. We'll watch a bunch of people go out in 1:01, see Kipchoge go 2:01-03, and everyone else 2:06 or worse. Maybe one no name runner stays on his hip through 30-35k and then falls off. I'll watch Kipchoge race any day of the week but was hoping Boston would spend the money to bring him in. Kipchoge might be locked into a multi year London deal or something but he has nothing left to prove there.
Well it wasn't last year but then Mo has learned how to pick up his water bottles and not have to run back for them since then!
Plus every experience in those Vaporflys I'm sure will encourage him he can push A LOT harder. I mean he looked very composed at the end of Chicago, i.e. plenty left in the tank.
Do you think Kipchoge will aim for a WR, pacing 60:30 for first half?
Or only in Berlin that’s possible and they won’t even try?

He got destroyed last time. Why would it be any different? Of course, never underestimate the power of a close relationship with Aden or being coached by Gary "offscores" Lough.

It's not about impressing anyone, it's because you stated an OBVIOUS and think you split the atom with such an OBVIOUS statement. He could run low to mid 2:02??? Wow, that's sounds impossible with his pedigree. You should really make more predictions dude!

Kipchoge for the past 2-3 years on a good day can easily go under 2:04. It would be nice if he runs the other WMMs, but there is less competition than in Berlin and London. Both courses are flat and are faster courses which attract all the fast runners
Farah to go home DEVASTATED. I likey.

Given the race is in London and Farah lives in London, wouldn't he, in essence already be home?

Farah? Has Mo ever actually beaten Eliud?

Hate to admit it, but this. You can only win for so long. 2018 was the highlight of his career. It’s all downhill from here on.

Even if Mo didn't argue with the motorbike about his drinks, he still wouldn't be able to keep up with Kipchoge.
Mo/everybody else:
Good day with perfect weather: 2:03
Good day: 2:04
Off day (or poor pacing): 2:06+
Kipchoge:
Good day with perfect weather: 2:01
Good day with poor weather: 2:03
Off day (or poor pacing): 2:04
