My goal for 2019 is to become more present and grounded. I am contemplating beginning the practice of carrying a grounding object, and I am interested in other people’s experiences with this technique. How do you select the right grounding object, and how/how often do you check in with it?

A lightning rod is my grounding object. I check in with it whenever there is a storm.
I have a cheap red ball cap I rub whenever I get nervous and scared.......which is always.

I carry a flask for everyday anxiety, and a crack pipe for instances where my psychic traumatization exceeds the healing capacity of a good swig of cheap vodka.

People didn’t relate to my thunderstorm-safe-practices approach, so I renamed my rod a staff and grew a long white beard.

I dont go anywhere without my fidget spinner.
My adult son passed over two years ago. I wear one of his rings and fidget with it frequently. It helps me think of him and in some small way helps me stay grounded.

I have several Super Bowl rings, and will soon have a new one in a few weeks.

Sorry, I know the thread took a serious turn but this has me rolling.
I went with the 5 ft copper grounding rod to carry especially on the trails. I put a rubber tip on the end and use it like a hiking pole.
I don’t go anywhere without my emotional support wolverine.
My grounding object is a big ball and it carries me. It's called "Earth".
