Given myself a bit of a problem haven’t I. Biggest race of my season in 2 weeks but have done something to my back/Glute.
Been running ~50mpw for a year without any serious issues. Do my core, Glute, hip, stretching & rolling work all the time.
Hamstring had been niggling for a month or so. Daily rolling, stretching, strengthening kept it together. Wasn’t going away so went and got a bit of acupuncture.
Ran a workout the next day but my back seized up - never had this issue before. Saw a friend who’s a physio & he said it was my left SI joint acting up. (Same leg as hamstring). Never had a problem like this but simply posting because can’t weight bear on the leg at all despite getting the joint manipulated & dry needling in the piriformis. He mentioned my left leg is longer too. What a time to be alive. Pain shoots through the joint and into the piriformis a bit too. Lacrosse ball & golf ball aren’t doing much for it.
Realise this injury is entirely my own fault having done a workout far too soon after acupuncture. Any advice on what to do? Seems to be getting worse with rest. Ibuprofen isn’t saving me this time.
Oh - and it definitely ain’t a stressy. So that’s something at least.
Any advice appreciated.
