I like both aquajogging and treadmill. AJ sucks when you are injured but when you are not and do it only every now and then to give your legs some rest it's not so bad. At least here it's very popular in summer time and all the best looking women go to the AJ lanes. So it's social activity too.
I don't see any difference between running a long run on a treadmill or on an indoor track in winter time. I've done even 100 laps, i.e. 40K on a track several times and also countless 30+K runs on a treadmill without a tv or radio and it hasn't been a problem. One just have to like to be alone. If you hated yourself you cannot run on a treadmill for hours.
