You guys realize Salazar doesn't care, right? He's moved on. He won Gold with Centro. That is in the books. Let's see Jerry replicate that.

Why does this read like the Russian collusion spin alley news network... down to the language "NOTHING BURGER". Apologize if doctors' license being scrutinized for frivolous prescriptions, illegal dosages of medically ill-advised contents via syringes over a measured time-horizon.. vials in hollow, cutout books, testing testosterone on children for sensitivity to drugs knowledge. Sharing prescription drugs among team members, cutting off access to certain athletes within the team, running an illegal pharmacy out of your house, etcetera, etcetera.
if all of this sounds like a NOTHING BURGER then get me in touch with your shrink, i need to re-assess my moral compass.
He left one group where he was overshadowed by one MO to join another group where he will be overshadowed by another MO. Next story

This statement reminds me of Linden and Hansons.
It’ll be interesting to hear from Centro directly why he made the move. Some will say that he’ll be moving-up to the 5k the next few years but Salazar is a great 5k coach. Mo won five golds and a silver at Olympics/Worlds in the 5k. Galen ran some very fast 5ks. So did Jenkins and Kejelcha and Ritz and Rowbury. Centro ran 13:20 under Alberto.
We’ll likely get the BS PC answer “I was just looking to change things up at this point in my career.” And there is something to changing-up the training at this point.
Hot news! Centro contacted CoachJS and now they will work together to make Centro better than ever.
I just love it! Now we will see the magic from the new hot coach.

This and the Mary Cain thread make me mad. Fans of other sports love the novelty of seeing their favorite pros train alongside stars from other teams before the real season begins, but we just HAVE to make sure people aren't mixing it up with other groups at all times.
Why does it make you mad? Of course fans are going to speculate about the potential training situations of the most popular pros, even in the offseason. Especially if the pros post about it on social media. If it were something they had to keep private for whatever reason, then they’d keep it private. It’s fun to speculate—nobody’s insisting that Mary Cain is a liar for posting about training in Mammoth if she’s actually just visiting friends there. But people are naturally going to wonder, especially now when there’s not much going on in the running world to follow.
Think about what Salazar was able to do with Centro.
He took 4:04 high school Miler from Maryland, not even Top 10 All-Time in American high school record books, and DEVELOPED him into an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST over 1500m.
Freaking amazing collaboration.

For a normal person, sure that would make sense. Not for a vindictive, grudge-holding, hyper-competitive loony.
Shouldn't we wait until the investigation is complete before we pass judgement?
Centro still has the 9th best performance, 7th hs performer at the 2M with 8:41.

I would assume that his father had a lot to do with his reaching that level.
He was then coached at Oregon by Andy Powell to a World bronze in the 1500m in 2011. If you think Powell is just dependent on Salazar, then recall a few years ago when Salazar asked Powell for tips on sharpening his athletes for championships after Oregon had enormous numbers of guys run sub 3:40 at the end of the season.
In recent years, while still with Salazar's group, Centro also had advice from his father, growing to become co-coach or more than that before the gold medal, before going to Washington to train with his father exclusively.
So, you can't given Salazar the credit for originally developing him to world champs level, and not all the credit for the gold, but plenty of credit is deserved.
I'll repeat what Centro, Jr. said - "All the credit goes to Alberto. A dream come true."

At this point, Centro Jr probably knows how to train. Probably he can still talk to his dad. My guess is that the move has much to do with him wanting people to train and watch TV with, as he doesn't appear to be a loner.

Add a shake and super size your order of blindfold man. im guessing you also believe OJ didn't do it either right?
Teg ran 3:34 and Solinsky ran 3:35 under just Jerry’s training.
I wouldn't overthink the UW coaching angle. Chris Kwiatkowski is an assistant at UW and one of Centro's best friends. He was probably volunteer coaching to do his buddy some favors with recruits and gain some access to UW's facilities. I doubt very much that anyone at UW feels snubbed.
A possible reason for Centro going to Bowerman: Jerry’s daughter will run for the Powells this fall & that they can’t coach him when the UW’s adidas deal kicks in July 1st?
Just asking.

Woem me down brings up a good point—could Centro have been told by Nike to work with a Nike affiliated coach or risk a reduction or voiding his contract, and that Jerry was one of his few options (then again, he could’ve gone with Mark Rowland at Oregon TC)?

What person in their right mind would work with Rowland after the fields of dead careers buried in Eugene?
