The Whole Paycheck of running brands. This stuff is for country club hobby joggers who want to out-tough Chad who lives around the corner and has a nicer Lexus.
I think this NDO marketing misses the mark. Have been running on pack snow since before NCAAs. This is like if in the middle of conference semis in the NBA, and Nike put out ads like, "Play hard, it's the playoffs!"
Also, running in the winter isn't even bad. Running in the middle of the summer is just as cruddy.. but you never see ads coming from anyone like, "Hey its July in Atlanta, get out there!" Sure they did that relay from LA to Los Vegas, but ffs they ran most of it at night and besides, the bus had AC
And I wouldn't be so offended if their gear wasn't trash.
I have a couple pairs of the van cordlant shorts, they're too tight in the crotch.
I have one of their greyboy tees too. Might as well dunk a thick cotten towel in water and go try and run with it on. It's the heaviest shirt I own, among all shirts
Their sweatpants are good, I wear them ever day actually.
Also, be forewarned, they size all thier gear a few sizes too small. I get it, it makes it seem like they're appealing to actual runners who are generally smaller than the general public. But at the same time, we don't all live near 'the track house' in boston, so it's not like I can try on the $60 shorts before I buy them.
Trash brand for people who have more money than they need.
Might as well just run in demin. Then when you suck, at least people won't know you paid money to be a loser.
I'm glad they're starting to put out stuff like mittens and heavier base layers that will hopefully hold up in northeastern winters. Their catalogue was a little lacking once the temps hit 25 or below
When you're ready to look good like an adult, you put on good looking adult clothing. I was done with the high school look for running gear that most running errands pump out when I left high school.
Thank you, People of Walmart.
Champion ftw!!!
I don't think of it.
Lol @ that description, “What is cold? Each day it reveals itself anew. Today, it’s a breath appearing in mid-air. A frosted face. Chapped lips...” etc. Did they hire Alexi Pappas write for them?
$120 for a turtleneck, lol.
I was under the impression that you don't want 100% merino wool as it doesn't hold up very well.

This is pretty funny. I tried to watch her movie Tracktown, best nap I ever took.
Good stuff but the apparel market is completely saturated with really good product at all price points so it's hard to justify price.
C9 stuff at Target is excellent especially for the price. former adidas designers and Champion sourcing, supply chain make a great product
So you have a couple pairs of shorts, a tee shirt, and at least one pair of sweatpants, all of which I'm assuming you bought from this "trash brand." If their stuff sucks that much, why don't you just get rid of it? I'll hang up and listen for my answer...

This is why I look at a company like Tracksmith and wonder "Is there stuff REALLY that much better than what is at the lower end/middle price points?" You can pick up really nice top-end products from any "outdoor" company (Outdoor Research/Patagonia/Mountain Hardwear) for LESS than Tracksmith stuff. Most of which come with Lifetime Guarantees! (hell, i've sent back an 8 year old running hat that ripped and got it replaced for free).
Like what is their business "competitive advantage"? It seems to me like they are just going after the "affluent white serious runners of the Northeast", which is a really niche demographic .
I used to live in a cold area, and the imagery of running on snowy roads and appeals to my nostalgic side.
I have a pair of the Reggie half tights that I've worn in two marathons and will continue to race in. They're fantastic. Great pockets for gels, etc.
I also have three singlets, that I run in in warm weather since shirtless gets a bit weird when you're no longer in HS.
The twilight split shorts are the lightest shorts I've ever owned and I hope they re-stock soon. Great cut for racing and workouts and material is perfection.
The people complaining about the cotton tee shirts being bad for running shouldn't have bought a cotton tee shirt for running in the first place. Makes zero sense, and the complaint seems invalid.
I guess the option is the cyborg looking gear from brooks, NB, etc. or the Justin Bieber / Kanye Stan looking gear Nike is pushing these days.

You like looking lame, cool.
And if you think Target's running gear is too expensive......

Dude, most people think we are out there running in our underwear. Ain't nothing cool about sportswear.
