Brogan Austin in the 3K
-
Dang I almost completely forgot about Izaic Yorks. Hope to see that man have some success this season.
-
Who wins the battle of the Tinmen: Brogan Austin or Sam Parsons?
-
I'd be very impressed if Brogan broke 8 minutes. He has never really been a track guy, typically succeeded more in cross country and now roads after college. A likely result is probably in the 8:05-8:10 range (maybe even slower if he goes out hot and completely blows up?). A month after marathon for someone that doesn't have the blistering 3k PR to begin with isn't a formula for a fast 3k right now.

Interestingly, recently in a podcast he said he thought he was trained in such a way that would allow him to be in mile PR shape as well as marathon PR shape simultaneously.
That could, of course, been bluster, but it will definitely be interesting to see him race this weekend.
Also, other entries have been added. NOP men and women are entered in various events.

The best part of the first article is Drew Hunter's mom claiming he is not very talented. (his dad was a 13:36 all american and she ran 2:11 in the 800). Yeah, it is just the training... don't worry about natural talent or picking the right parents.
-
Honestly, the women's pole vault could be the best event of the whole meet, with Katie Nageotte in the field, along with 4 of the top 5 in the Pac-12. Too bad Flotrack won't even show anything, much less acknowledge the results.
-
Klosterhalfen in mile could be interesting. German national record in the indoor mile is only 4:28

Good point, I've heard him say that on a few occasions. Of course, I don't know what his previous 3k best is, but yeah, his result vs others and the other Tinman elites will be interesting to see.

...remember that even if she gets it, it won't count as a German NR because track is oversized.
Given she's doubling after the 1000, sounds like this is a glorified workout. They're probably doing something afterwards on the outdoor track knowing Alberto. -
No one has posted a link to a future feed or knows where the feed will be???
-
Pete Julian is coaching her, not Alberto.
-
Meetup tomorrow? :)
I live nearby and will probably be doing a workout on the outdoor track, wearing my LetsRun singlet. -
